Hi all.

Jane here in Cardiff.  Just finished work in NHS.  We have a new cleaner on ward  and was chatting to him generally and thought to myself that he sounded spanish.  I asked where he was from and he informed me Madrid.  I informed him myself and husband had bought a place in Spain.  He asked me where and I informed him Murcia.  He looked at me if a was a goddess (no argument there).  He informed me the spanish love Murcia it is a beautiful place and you cannot go wrong buying there.   He wanted to buy there but his wife didn't - can't quite fathom out why he ended up in Britain!   He was raving about the whole area of Murcia.  I am home now and I think he is still talking to me on the ward about the wonders  of Murcia.

I am posting this thread purely to encourage everyone on Condado.

Ta ra - Jane

When we were looking at properties in the Summer (July) of 2006, we looked all over the mar menor area. It was obvious that there were loads of Spanish people on holiday. We asked the agent if it was a popular area for the spanish and we were told that it was usual for  full ( extended) familes who lived in the wealthier cities to share ownership of a holiday house on the coast.

I am sure when Spain 'closes' for July you will see a lot more Spanish holiday makers particularly on the coast, but hopefully on Condado as well.

I completely agree, we looked along most of the coast (were already familiar with Costa del Sol and couldn't afford it and am so glad!).  We picked Condado on a rainy Saturday in November 2006 when I saw the beach at Bolneuvo and the extended unspoilt coastline  - at the time Condado was a huge field but I wanted to be in the middle of all that natural beauty.

The irony is that we are probabaly spoiling it a bit for the local population (imagine if there were plans to build such a development in the middle of the Peak District)  but hopefully we can contribute to the local economy and join in with many of the Spanish fiestas.
