Van Hire ??

Hi All 

We have just joined the foram, have got an apartment in Jardin 4 and hopefully coming out to furnish it at the begining of May.

Does anybody know of any van hire companies between MJV and Alhama ? 

We think this is our best option to come out to Spain (without the children) and spend a few days buying our furniture at Ikea and choosing exactley what we want, and not what these furniture packages give you.

If you could let us know if you know of/or can recommend a van hire company we would be very gratefull.

Alison & Mark, you can hire a van at Ikea, anything from 4 hours to days, it's not run by Ikea but is in the same building near the check out.

As anybody hired a van from Ikea ??  Do you need good Spanish and deep pockets ??

Would you need to pre-book.

No need to prebook, we had ours for 4 hours and with insurance, fuel and excess miles driving to Condado it was from memory 75 EUR, so not too bad.

Hi Alison,

Steve (Endpeg on the forum) has a transit and does an IKEA collection service.  You can either give him a list for collection, or go with him.  We met him in the coffee shop, dragged him around for a couple of hours whilst we picked out our stuff.  He then loaded it in the van, delivered it to the apartment and unpacked it all whilst we went to get some other stuff.

Well done Phil, I forgot about Steve, very reliable and good service, ideal if your a bit pushed for time.

You may not know but Ikea stuff in the Uk is the same as Spain. Therefore you could choose everything in the UK, send a list to Steve and he will pick it up for you. That way you don't have to worry about shopping whilst in Spain, We used Steve and he was very good.

Hi both,

Steve (endpeg) has picked up bits for us, fitted blinds etc & would second Phil & Debs comments.

Do you know how we can get hold of Steve (Endpeg) reguarding what he would charge etc,  can't see how to do it on this forum.
