On the subject of flags - come on we really don't need to lower the tone of the place bwithpeople flying their colours - that's so unecessary and I'd certainly want the resdidents association to take action if this sort of thing went on - we want our property values to increase not decrease don't we ! Maybe CAMPOSOL would be a better location for the flag flyers.

On the possible break in - did you have insurance and did you contact your insurance co. Just wondering what sort of response you got.

your house number hand painted on your wall, an old ford cortina jacked up in your garden, with the sump leaking, and a big sky dish,

Would anyone mind if i brought a mini motorbike out with me so i can zip round the Jardins to see all these wonderful flags? Such fascinating pieces of machinery and not in any way annoying.................

Got to agree with the flag comments, imagine what the place would look like if we all flew flags from our roof terraces? The place would end up looking like Glastonbury, without the mud though. Or the music. Or the drugs.

Come to think of it, it would be nothing like Glatonbury at all, ignore me.

There's a few St George flags flying from properties in Camposol and the obvious thought that crossed my mind was, if they love England so much why are they living in Spain?  :) But it does make the place look a bit downmarket IMO.

The flag re-appeared and will fly again. It is of religious significance to me so I will ignore all the stupid comments.

Yeh - quite right - to hell with everyone else's opinion and the aesthetics of the place.

Do you live on the resort full time or do you have a home in the UK where you can put a satelite dish up or do whatever you want with your property.

No one has complained about it.

I also reserve the right to practice my own religion in the way I see fit.

I happen to also be doing a lot of work here behind the scenes to try and improve the lot of owners for everyones benefit in conjunction with other people, including people like you.

I can put up a satellite dish in the UK but I am not permitted to put one up on Condado.  One of the reasons I was happy to purchase there - in the knowledge that unsightly appendages would not spring up all over the place.  This is Polaris rules not mine but I am more than happy to adhere to them for the sake of the '5-star' resort.  I cannot imagine that you would see much of your flag whilst it is flying over your rooftop.  Your neighbours will see plenty of it though I guess..............................

The religion thing is a bit of a cop-out though, is it not?

If everyone claimed the right to do whatever they wanted on grounds of religion, even if it annoyed others, then we would be in a right old kerfuffle if you ask me.

Take the flag down and grow up. :)

Quick Point.

It is not specifically against the rules to put up a satellite dish, this is a "un-truth" that has been circulated.  There is nothing in the rules of association that forbids dishs, only changes to the " general aesthetics of the fronts of the residential buildings" so (by the rules ) you can have a dish on you roof or on you back terrace if you so desire.  At La Torre thay have tried to get people to remove dishes, but from what I hear only if they have been installed in communal areas ( i.e penthouse roofs ) legally they cannot make you remove one off your own property ( unless it falls within the above rule ).

Fair do's - I have noticed some satellite dishes on rooftops - they are, so far, very unobtrusive and not noticeable at ground level - and white!!

Excellent point Cappielow, I fully respect everyones right to pracitice their relegion, but it shouldnt give you free reign to break rules.

Some very good points made here - whilst everyone has the right to practice their own religion, I fail to see why that necessitates flying any kind of flag from the roof or terrace of your property!  Seems to me like something you would expect of football supporters rather than a religious follower. 

Completely agree that it will spoil the look of the 5 star resort we are all so keen to see develop and grow into a fabulous community.  At least satellite dishes serve a useful purpose - not sure what purpose a flag will serve - useful or otherwise, even one with religious significance - other than to irritate and annoy other property owners.

I don't think flying a flag to show people what religion you practise is a good thing at all.

May I ask (Mel) what religion you practise?.   Why would you need a flag flying from your property to show this religion?
