Hi, just got back from condado and walked the course most nights, its the first time i've seen it and I gotta say I think it's going to be one heck off a course when ready.
All 18 greens have been laid and you could say that most on the front 9 and beyond are in excellent condition already. I was suprised by the condition of some of the fairways, in fact all of the ones they have seeded, they resemble a cabbage patch better than a golf course at the moment but nothing that a bit of tender loving care some fertilizer and weed killer wont sort out though.
I won't bore you with a run down on all 18 holes but the some of my initial favourites were the 2nd, the tee is a real cracker, 3rd looks a great par 3 and is visually a very good looking hole, 11th will be fun in the afternoon alhama wind and with a fair bit of water around i'm sure a nice round of medal could prove interesting.
All of the holes have been beautifully sculpted, all holes up to no.12 seem to have been seeded and they are watering vigourously, 13, 14, 15, 16 have all been sculpted and they are still working on them but dont seem to have been seeded yet, 17 and 18 again have been seeded and have got quite a bit of growth.
Really liked the layout the whole layout 13, 14, 15, 16 were a bit up and down compared to the rest of the course, not to say they are going to be bad holes though, they once again have been highly defined and i'm sure will take shape very nicely when we see a bit of growth on them, as I left they had just dug out and appeared ready to put the first bit of sand in the bunkers on the 3rd.
As a keen golfer on the whole very, very impressed and cant wait to have a crack / sorry hack at it. From what I have seen from the the time scale given on opening I think that November sounds about right if they spend the time on it, the course needs at least 6 - 8 months in my opinion to be playable in a decent condition.
I've babbled on for long enough, but just one gripe polaris, why the hell didn't you complete and seed the driving range first so atleast us golfers could have some practise facilities to keep us occupied.
Cheers
