Hi all,
Bit of feed-back from our recent week spent at Condado over Easter. Weather turned out to be better than we expected looking at the long range forecast prior to departure. Warm and sunny most of the time - one afternoon clouded over and it turned quite cool, rain on the morning of the last day (Saturday) but soon cleared up and sun came out again.
Week was combination of getting rest of jobs done, finishing last of shopping, having a better look aroud the area and finally, taking a much closer look at Condado & the golf course.
In summary:- Well impressed with the way things are shaping up. Foro is coming on and walls are starting to be built inside the shell now. A lot of activity outside laying the drains & services. Observed some of the interior door/window frames being taken in on Friday. Retaining wall around the outside will look nice when finished - huge natural stone chunks. La Isla getting more of the finishing touches applied - chrome handrailing at the lake edge alongside paths was being installed along with further trees and shrubbery.
The golf course will be superb. Some great looking holes taking shape. If you don't like uphill/downhill lies on the fairway don't bother playing ! If you only like nice flat greens don't bother playing ! If you like a driving range that has a fabulous view in the background, well just spend your time there then !! For anyone who is not a golfer, hire a buggy anyway once the golf has closed play for the day and take part in a white knuckle ride that would not look out of place in Alton Towers! I rode the buggy path circuit several times on my mountain bike (while it is possible to do so) and had great fun. There are more twists & turns than an Agatha Christie novel.
Siera Espuna. Really surprised me how green and picturesque it is. You can drive so far in and then head off on various hikes into the mountains. There are picnic areas and cafe/restaurants to quench your thist following a good walk.
Camposol. Really quite easy to get to & from (see my post on the surgery) and a wide variety of places to eat & drink. A little further into the urbanisation and you will come to the Sensol hotel & spa and camposol golf course. Here you will find a very nice club house over-looking the course (course nowhere near as what Condado is shaping up to be, but still a nice outlook) where you can eat & drink. There is also a driving range here while we wait for ours to be ready. On a Saturday and Thursday nights there is live entertainment provided in the Sensol hotel. It is really quite smart and certainly cheaper than the surgery.
For those that don't know camposol, I will post some photo's of the main square and also the Sensol hotel area. Will also post some of the golf course 'up close & personal' and driving range outlook. Will also drop in a few for good measure of :- Foro, La Isla, Catragena, Cala de Cortina beach, Bolnuevo beach, Siera de Espuna, the service road to camposol and finally - a right scrubber on my patio !
Regards,
