I have now received a programme of events from the coach company, they have also managed to speak to someone at Jumilla.
It looks like the most interesting day is the 16th august and the itinerary is as follows:
13.00 - concurso de Uva Monastrell (The people who plant the seeds have a competition to see who has grown the largest grapes)
13.00 - Miniferia Del vino (Mini wine fair with chance to sample. Entry 3-5 €)
(Both of these seem interesting but here lies the problem, the next event does not start until 18.00)
18.00 - Campeonato de pisaores De Uva (Treading of the grapes)
18.00 - Juegos tradicionales (traditional games)
19.00 - Festival Taurino - (We have still to pin point this one but believe that it is a festival of bulls in the bull ring)
21.00 - Entrada Cristiana - The entry of the Christians
24.00 - Live folk music.
I have gone for this day and hope it fits in with the plans of those who are interested in attending the Jumilla Wine festival, i have also gone with the advice of the coach company which is that we go up to Jumilla for 17.30, stay until midnight and use any time between events for wandering off for a drink/bite to eat.
The cost of the trip by coach would be approx €14 per person.
If anyone else is interested in the trip to Jumilla, Owners / Guests / neighbouring developements could you please let me know by posting on the forum or emailing me on
latercia1@googlemail.com I can then make arrangements with the coach company regarding numbers attending.
