Trains

Has anyone taken the train from Totana to Barcelona?  What was it like?  Any tips welcome thanks

Kathy here, but no longer at Dragontours I´m afraid - I was made redundant in March and now I´m working at the La Red Solutions(MAPFRE/Allianz) Office on Camposol B.

Re. trains. The faster & more enjoyable (so all my customers said) is the Alicante to Barcelona train - for example this train leaves at 9:25 and you arrive 14.10 whereas the Totana to Barcelona train leaves at 8.41 & arrives at 16.42 with over 20 stops. Check out the RENFE.ES site for all times etc.

it´s good to be back working.... beats sitting on the beach !!!

I saw an earlier posting re. work available in the area..,. Spain has a very high unemployment level & I was out of work for 3 months. There isn´t a lot of work out here & anyone thinking of taking the plunge should think seriously about the move & make sure they have enough money to support themselves in the interim.  I heard that when Best Wishes advertyised for staff they had over 80 applicants for 1 job & they wanted a spanish speaker. Yes, I´m sure there is the odd bit of bar work about during peak times but would this be enough to support a person let alone a family.

The below link shows the local train services - yes there is a service from Alhama de Murcia to Murcia, journey time is 27 mins, and single costs €1.95.

How far is Alhama de Murcia from Condado and is there parking near train station?  Presumably it is the nearest station to Condado?

Is Murcia station in the centre of Murcia city? 

Does one usually pay for parking in the city?

Anywhere else worth going by train for a day trip?

Alhama De Murcia Station is 10 - 15 mins from Condado

Trains to Murcia at 11 mins past each hour

Last train Back about 9PM? Just as life begins?

You can also get trians to Lorca and Aguilas

Once you get a train to Murcia you can Acess all Spain Madrid, Barcelona, Seville etc
