Anyone know the best place to buy a TV?

We out to Condado in 4 weeks and would like to purchase a TV, where is the best place and directions if poss!

we got ours from makro in murcia, quite good prices 32" flat for 399 euro, that was last year, we looked all over and found these the best on offer at the time,

these are the directions,takes about 30 mins, if you want a map, go to google and put in, makro murcia and then directions should follow

We bought ours from Media MART they are at Carrefour in cartegina or in Murcia,  there prices are good paid just under 400 for a 32" but they do have deals on somtimes as I kicked myself as it was 300 once but we did not buy then>

We also paid 300 euros for our 32inch Flat screen As I wanted a hair dryer too they discounted that by 15 percent even though the price was good anyway

Problem is we cannot remember the name of the shop

If its any help Its on the same site as Ikea about 4/5 shops up from ( Icant remember if its Toyrs are us  or Babies are us )either way its up a bit from the Ikea main entrance on the opposit side

Re Macro

Quite a number of Macro`s have closed down due to the financial climate , so it migt be a good idea to check before going there.

Carrefour 300 euros 32" flat screen.  You might be better to wait until after NEW Year as I believe that the Spanish have one major sale per year and this is in January.

      I'm another that got mine at Carrefour, also at the time they had a deal where if you signed up for a Carrefour loyalty type card you got money added you could use against further purchases, I'm sure we got about 10%, back.

I have been looking at TV's on line at Carrefour. Can anyone tell me how you know if it's HD ready so that you get the extra channels automatically.

To get the additional channels you need a digital Tuner (in UK known as a Freeview Tuner or DV3 tuner), all TV's these days have a built in Digital Tuner.

HD is High Definition and this relates to the number of pixels on your screen. The English channels you can pick up with your TV are not broadcast in HD, also the Polaris TV package is not HD.

So unless you are playing on a PS3 or XBox 360, or you have a Blueray player you will not be able to watch Highdefinition TV in your spanish apartment, so I wouldnt worry too much about HD at the moment.

We also got a 32" from Carrefour in Cartegena, it's been great.  (Got it about 6 weeks ago).  Same price as Media Markt.  Both stores in Parque Mediterraneo Cartagena.

With a digital TV you will get TDT, the Spanish Freeview, which will give you around 40 channels.   Two of these, Sony and Disney are english and a few of the others transmit some programs that are switchable between Spanish/English.  To get UK channels you will need a digi box.
