Hi all,
Do you know if the bills says the reading is "real" " or "estimado" ?????(estimate). I think I explain this before, but I will try to do it again. Iberdrola is charging now monthy, but up to last year the bill was coming every two months, and were no problem at all.
What they are doing now, because they were asked by the Industry Minister, and it is very unpopular in Spain, I must say, is that one month you get the real bill (it means someone goes to the apartment and do the reading on the meter, and the following one they do an estimation of what they think you might have spent (as nobody goes to the apartment), and you get a bill which is not real. Then they will read the meter again and they compensate if charged extra.
With our contract which is 5.75 KW, the minimum to pay wether you use electricity or not is around 10 euros+VAT a month. I was charged first month 12.25 euros without being in the house at all, I do not know this month what it will be the estimation.
The first time you get the receipt 46 euros, it was an estimation. But then in the second one 67 euros, it must be the real one, they read the meter and they charged in this receipt extra that should have charged you in the previous one. If you consider both amounts, 113 euros, that's your real electricity cost for the two months.
If you get electronic billing, you have one option to tell Iberdrola the real reading in the meter, so they will provide you with a "real" bill every month. Obviously, as we are not there, we have no choice, but to let them do it like this.
