Calm down dear! as Michael would say!.
My uncle was over in August and never paid once for two weeks of tennis. I was also out in Condado over Christmas and I played tennis 3 days on the run, again for no payment. The gates are unlocked and surely if Polaris were keen to enforece their rates then they would police the facilties. It's up to Polaris to enforce this rate and at the moment they don't seem that bothered, so my advice is play and see if they stop you!.
Btw, my boy didn't take to tennis, so if anyone fancies a game then let me know.

We went to play on the Saturday morning 9th Jan and all the gates were locked. There was a guy walking around the facilities with a clip board.
Once again it is inconsistent, which makes it all the more frustrating.

Calm down dear......................... I wish I could be e-sure they would give thier heads a shake and start trying to make some money rather than scaring people away.

I would like to know who to contact about their marketing policies when no one will pay anything for the services provided.
If I had an email address for someone who had some clout I would suggest pricing which all of us know would bring much needed revenue in.
How can they reduce their debts with such ignorance about economics?

Hi Barry
I'm sure I remember, many moons ago now, Mel Beasley posting a contact of some sort. Only problem is, I can't remember if it was just to do with the bars? If you bump into him I'm sure he'll be happy to help. I've tried the contact on the PW web site before, but think it depends what you are asking as to wether they will reply. Worth a try.
If we can't contact PW, we don't know if these prices are official?? Get my drift? Yeh! I am a suspicious b.

Everyone seems to be knocking Polaris here for their pricing policies which granted are what you could say a bit on the high side. But if you look back to the original posting by Rob & Joanne you will see that these areas have changed hands to another company. Polaris have not been interested in this area since the Manzano was closed last year and as people have pointed out gates have been left open for all to play free of charge.
Is it the new company thats set these charges?? We heard a while ago, although not confirmed, that the Intercontinental Hotel chain where taking over this area. Does anyone know who the new owners are?
"The tennis, sports and Gym which is opening in a month has been taken over by a independant company, the manzana cafe bar is due to re open with in two months by Polaris,we where informed yesterday,by the above company

We should all write to the community presidents the ones that take our c.c money
and to Polaris the ones who got our money and then see what replies we get if any
do not leave this drop and just take it on the chin stand up and be counted and let this be a start of taking no more s..t
we dont have a lot of facility's so we should not be priced out of the ones we got
what about the residents do you ever say anything or is this the way you like it, well lets not forget we all pay the same c.c
sorry to the residents who have spoke up

Tom,
In fairness to the residents, they may well have approched their presidents or they may not wish to partake in the sports and not know anything about the charges. Also, this forum is probably only accessed by a small % of the overall Condado population. It just feels like it is a 'big group' to us.

Just a suggestion
step one - Get confirmation of the prices from the people who take the bookings preferably in the form of a price list.
If the hiked up prices are correct
step two - ask for a formal complaint form and complete it and see what happens.
meanwhile
Step three (or one and a half) - who ever is directly interested in using the facilities - ask your president to get confirmation.

I have asked the question on CDA but as yet no one has come back..... I do know PTann is on his way back home (driving) so he's out of action and I think Mick is away or has been away from CDA over the holiday period. I'm sure if there is a way of finding out they will do it.
With reference to the original post from Rob and Joanne, they say "We were informed yesterday, by the above company" Who do they mean, by "the above company"?

Mick here back at Condado after a few weeks in the UK (Never again - all that white stuff)
After reading your post i have been to Sports Zone and spoken with a lovely but bored lady, and can offer the following facts!
The Sports Zone is now managed by a company called Dualia S.L. (The also run Mar Menor)
Costs are per hour Padel = 12€ Tennis = 8€ Resident rates (Visitors i did not ask)
There is a Monthly Membership 30€ Gym OR Courts or 40€ Both Family 75€ HOWEVER These will only giveyou 2€ discount of the above rates.
If you need lighting its a 3€ supplement.
I am horrified by these prices and will now have to take up tiddly winks on my patio (Surely that will be free)
What can we do ?? dont know but i think the prices themselves will save us boycotting the sports zone I hate to think what they will charge a few kids to kick a ball around in the summer?
I will make a note to raise it at the next meeting but the Sports zone never has been part of the community we have never paid for any of the services cleaners lights etc this has always been dealt with by Polaris, it is not in our budget !
Perhaps in the future we could take it over and spread the costs etc but this would need full backing of owners and a lot of business calculations?
I hope Jardin 5 and 7 charge mon residents to park their cas at the sports zone.

Shall we start a little competition, who will guess the nearest date as to when this lot either go bust or pull out of cda. Companies like this who rip people off deserve to go bust. I was actually looking forward to using the gym, but unless they do a reasonable price for people who don't live over there i would never use it. My bet they won't be there by November!!

Mick, i'll be joining you for the tiddly winks!! Absolutely outrageous prices. They are pricing this all wrong, as anyone with a bit of common sense and the tiniest bit of business acumem will know.
They have their membership prices up for the gym too i see. Is the place even open yet??
Was there any talk of the Surgery re-opening? Although i can only imagine, if we thought it was pricy before, a cup of coffee may well turn out to be the most expensive in Europe, nay the world!!!
a Joke!!

Mick,
Looking at the prices you quoted, the prices the young lady quoted me must be non- resident (€18 paddle ball) etc.
I must admit I didn't hang around to question her any further I was so discusted.
They clearly have the same ethos as PW - Price everything high as for a 5* resort and then wonder why its not used.
I have emailed our garden president to ask that the community of owners (via our presidents) are updated as to the current situation and the prospects for the near future on CDA regarding facilities.
I have requested, and think we should all lobby for, some sensible pricing/discounts for all owners to allow and encourage us to use the few facilities we have.

Whilst i would love these facilities to be free, or even the original €2 we were charged. Just to put these fees into perspective, La Manga fees (and I know that resort is more developed), for tennis courts, low season -€14, medium €18 and high €22 (per hour for owners).

Surely the company running these facilities will realise business is not going to pick up unless they change their prices or offer some special offers, better to have customers paying a fair price than no customers at all, hopefully they will realise this soon as its a shame to see it deserted.
