A couple of more restaurants that are great for families that we have eaten at many times are:
Palenque/Pizarron 2 (in the Port)
Good selection of meat with Argentine steaks cooked on the barbacoa. Also doubles as an Italian pizza restaurant (probably one of the best in the area) with a large variety of pizza’s cooked to order, salads, pasta dishes and burgers. Menu in Spanish and English. A popular eating place all year round with Spanish and English alike. Tables outside and in. Very casual ambience and friendly place. This used to be our children’s favourite restaurant until they discovered the Wok Buffet!
Go past El Arbol supermarket in the Port, through the lights and round the bend and past the Hong Kong on your right. Palenque/Pizzarron 2 is just round the corner on the right (there are 3 pizza restaurants in a row).
Gran Mundo Chinese Restuarant and Wok Buffet
Probably the longest established Chinese Restaurant in the Port. It also now offers a Wok Buffet service which is fantastic value for money, large choice of dishes. Always busy. Wok Buffet 9.90 Euros adult and 8 Euros child. Wine and drinks very reasonable. Ideal for kids as they can help themselves and try different things.
Follow directions for Pizzarron 2 and Gran Mundo is on the left hand side opposite the
Mariano's Restaurant
Good selection of tapas at lunchtime and also Menu del Dia. Spanish speaking but menu is loosely translated into English. In the evening the nicely furnished restaurant has an A la Carte Menu and Menu del Noche which is great value at 12 Euros per head for 3 courses including a drink and coffee. Good selection of drinks and wine.
Mariano’s can be found at Camposol. Follow signs for A Sector, keeping to the main road the restaurant is on the left just next to the Camposol Business Centre.
El Saladillo
El Saladillo has “Dancing with Horses” Sunday lunchtimes. Traditional flamenco show combining flamenco dancers and beautiful horses that literally dance! Set menu – booking essential. Two sittings. Just pop into the restaurant to make a booking.
Come off at the Camposol turnoff and take the turning for A Sector. Carry on past Mariano’s and past the garden centre. El Saladillo is on the left just opposite the tiny white church.
Hope this helps.
