Morning All,
Myself and wife have been looking into a long term let on Coto Real and the only real question I have is do the terraces to the apartments have a gate? As it looks from the pictures that they do not which worries us slightly as surley anyone can just walk up onto your terrace?
None of the other properties we have rented in Spain have been like this so it would be a little strange we just cant find any pictures to suggest that the terraces are secure?
Please if someone could reply to me today that would be great as we move at the end of the month and if the terraces are secure then would deffinately love to move into Coto Real.
Kindest regards and look forward t your replies!!!
Alex

Just to let you know that only a few are like this, we are on level one and our terrace has no gate but the floor below us they all have stairs from the pool up to their terrace and I would not like this for security reasons.
Which block are you renting. It's a very safe complex.

Hi thanks for the reply to my husband - another we've been told is that there are no phone lines avaialble in the complex yet and therefore no internet connection- this is important to us as my husband will be working from home and will need both - we've been told by the estate agent that Duquesa Village has no problem with this but Coto Real does - do you know if this is true?
Many thanks
Fiona

My friends work from home and they have internet and always ring me on skype, their business is in London and they run it from Coto Real, DV got the info from our supplier, there is no lines into DV either. I will try and find out who the supplier is, I know the guy below us rents out and he is all sorted for internet but his terrace is one that leads down to pool.

Leema, that's not right. We have lines - Telefonica installed our line and adsl. You don't need to go to a supplier - you have to have a landline and only telefonica can install this, I believe. I think you're talking about that guy, Brian. He was only of interest for short term internet connection, for those only holidaying here - and JC1 got info but the signal was apparently dreadful! The only way to go if working from home is with adsl connection - you can't rely on a dongle or other satellite connection up here.
In fact, there are many here with adsl and phone lines, as I've had Telefonica knock on my door more than once for installation of someone else's connection!!
(Edited to say : sorry, Maureen, just realised I put "Leema" at the beginning!!)

Didn't know you had it installed Jan, must be brilliant for you with Nigel working away, when did they put it in? Is it still raining out there, David has told us to bring waterproof coats.

We had it installed last August, Maureen - hence why I'm able to spend so much time on FB and EOS!!
Rain has been on and off and more forecast! It's not too bad though, but you'll probably need a brolly!! Look forward to seeing you!

So am I correct in thinking that if we rented on Coto Real we could go through telefonica and get a landline and internet connection without any problems? Does anyone know of any reasonably priced long term rentals on the complex available from 1st March that will allow pets? We have gone through lots of estate agents so far and there a not being particularly quick (bearing in mind I start my job in 2 weeks we're now panicking slightly!) Thanks

No, you have to apply for it - we went to the Movistar/Telefonica shop in Sabinillas. DV is set up with lines - you just have to get them connected. Must say Telefonica were pretty good. Even when we phoned BT in Spain (they were promoting themselves at the time) we were told by them that it would take a few weeks as they had to apply for the landline with Telefonica!! They were a little cheaper, but it was easier to go direct with Telefonica, as we were heading back to Dubai at the time - and they were pretty quick. Don't know about Coto Real though or if/why they don't have the infrastructure there.
Alex/Fiona, if you need any info, you can email me at my website email (don't think you can "private message" at the moment!).
Edited to say: think we crossed posts! I was saying "no" in reply to Maureen about Telefonica just turning up. Fiona, you had better check with someone who knows about Coto Real as to whether the infrastructure is there or not. If the agent is saying they don't have lines there, there must be a reason. Does no one at Coto Real have adsl installed? This message was last edited by Pitby on 12/02/2010.

Steve has just replied with the following.
Hi Maureen,
My understanding with Coto Real is that Telefonica are waiting until the Road has been completed, so will be a little while yet!!
