I said recently that I would not be posting on the forum any more, however, we have just returned from Corvera and felt that we owed it to other purchasers to post how our visit went as others have done for us.
We absolutely loved the place! The weather was vile, torrential rain, freezing cold, fog...., but we still loved it. Our apartment had been furnished the day before we arrived by Murcia Furniture. Their furniture is good quality but their ordering system, using the light box, makes things quite complicated to follow. Things, therefore, did not turn out exactly as we had planned but the apartment looks lovely.
We arranged for anyone who we needed/wanted to see or anyone who wanted to see us to come to the apartment on the Monday to save time as we were only there for four full days. Paul from One-Property, who is now our key holder, was the first to arrive - spot on time (we were slightly late). He had already been to our apartment prior to us arriving as he carried out a deep clean for us so gave us his opinion from a rental perspective along with observations he had made during the clean. He had also provided us with a welcome pack at the request of Roy Howitt - most appreciated, thank you Roy!! Then Steve and Jane came to see us accompanied by a bottle of wine - again most appreciated!! Lovely to meet you both, hope to see you again soon - let us know how you got on.
Next came James Turney from pct air conditioning who had also installed our air conditioning prior to us arriving. It was extremely cold on arrival so it was brilliant to use the warm air facility. The central heating doesn't seem to emit much heat , but it's not really needed with the warm air conditioning. James checked that everything was working well and gave me a run through on how to use the system. I can highly recommend James' services. Then along came Roy and his lovely wife, Elaine. Roy has been brilliant throughout. Extremely thorough. Elaine does not take a back seat either - she has her input - very helpful. Roy and Alf (my better half) went through all our outstanding snagging issues - yes still outstanding from September and Roy drew up a new list. He has visited our apartment numerous times since completion, on many occasions to report back that snagging issues have not been completed even though I have been told they have.
Alf spoke to Alex in the office regarding these outstanding issues and Alex agreed to visit the next morning to go through everything. Alex turned up on time and was very helpful, looking at all our concerns and taking notes. We hope that we can get things sorted as soon as possible. Roy is back on the case again!
Tom at t-d Services installed all our spotlights in the kitchen and bathrooms - fantastic job, he was there exactly when he said he would be. We can definitely recommend his services. Thank you Tom.
We brought our soft furnishings from Yorkshire Linen in Jan Javier. Sales assistants were extremely patient and helpful. Ikea in Murcia was brilliant for bits and pieces. The Condomina centre in Murcia is huge. We found a shop in there called Sibaris that sells gorgeous furniture, pictures and really different pieces - some very expensive but also some quite reasonable. We were cheeky and asked for a discount and got 10% with absolutely no problem. Our electrical items came from Discount Electrical Appliances in San Javier. Cafe Golf in San Javier is very good for English breakfast, the staff in there are extremely helpful and can give advice on where to go for certain purchases. Discount Electrical Appliances and Yorkshire Linen are behind the Cafe.
Overall, although very quite, the development looks fantastic. The groundsmen were on the course every day. There were always men cleaning the grounds and a road-sweeper was cleaning kerbs. For the first couple of days, there were not many golfers on the course as the weather was so bad, but on the day we left there were quite a few. Also some joggers which was nice to see. Obviously the driving range had been used quite a bit as the mechanical golf ball picker up (don't know the correct term) was clearing the range. The trees on the entrance roads were also being pruned. There was always someone maintaining something which was good to see. Seems that the equestrian centre should be completed this summer. Work has stopped temporarily on the clubhouse, but from what we gather this is not down to Calidonia who are trying to get things started again.
I think that's all, if I remember something I will add it later. Hope this helps.
