Anyone know if the centre is still going ahead as i am looking to open a retail unit on the site in the future. Also how many residents are on there full time as this is the important fact as a couple of agents have been economical with the truth.

As far as I'm aware, there will be no Commercial or health centre for the foreseeable future ( although agents and Corvera might tell you different), personally I doubt if there ever will be, there will also be no hotel or equestrian centre. You will also find that there is a lack restaurants and places to drink within the development, although there is a clubhouse being currently built, (whether it will be completed or not time will tell, I would assume nothing at the moment). And personally I suspect that the PGAE link will be severed assuming that it still exists, as the development is not the 5 star resort that we were promised, the PGAE will likely want the range of facilities that were originally promised.
As far as full time residents is concerned, there were I believe around 1200 properties sold, around 700 units have been completed on phase one and two, although many purchasers are refusing to complete and taking Calidona to court due to a variety of reasons. I think you will have to wait and see when or if later phases will be completed. Sorry for not being more positive but it's just the way it is, unfortunately I think that you will have to put your retail unit plans at Corvera on permanent hold.

Please bear in mind that this is just someone's personal opinion - it is not fact.

I agree with every negative vibe but the fact still remains: if this recession/economic stress hadn't hit us, everyone (well 99% atleast) would have completed and we would have had ALL our facilities. Times are hard and about to get harder for Europe (may be not for UK) ................... reflect... it's going to take some time for things to get back to normal.

Sorry Raviss but that argument rings hollow where Calidona are concerned. GFC did not kick in until mid to late 2008, Corvera with a vast chunk of its facilities was meant to have been built by then and Calidona have had a lot of our money since 2005.. they have done nothing but tell lies and more lies from day one and are still doing it to this day.
Their business model (along with a lot of Spain)is to grab your money as quickly as possible with aggressive, persuasive and very impressive marketing and then eventually at their own pace with all our money in the bank gathering interest start to build these resorts . The point is, if they had held up their end of the bargain then we would all have bought our properties as advertised and be living /renting there with no complaints about the product, the GFC is a great excuse for all of the Calidona apologists but at the end of the day thats all it is...an excuse.
Anita you are right, it is someones opinion but i would say its a tad more realistic than thinking that you are going to be using any of the said facilities in the next 5 years or so. I guess its probably best to expect nothing and you wont be disappointed. Maybe that should be Calidonas new advertising mantra??
"CORVERA , LIVE THE DREAM, EXPECT NOTHING AND YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!" i think that has a good ring to it!
regards, Dave

Thanks Dave,
Can't disagree with the points raised.
Now, there is a group trying to sue Calidona and then quite a few who have completed (inc myself). I decided not to join the group suing calidona and I had my own reasons to complete. I am in no hurry to move for atleast 5 years.......
I do feel that calidona has let down quite a few people, who intended to move to Corvera and have been somewhat "short-changed". "Money grabbing" is not limited to Spain only - here in UK, I know many people (including myself) who lost hard earned MANY thousands (on deposits and NO completions) on speculations and other property deals.
At the moment, the resort is a ghost town (the course is magnificant - fairways need maturing a bit) and next few months (up to autumn) are critical and will confirm if this resort will come up as intended. If it is busy then it will kick start the whole cycle otherwise .............................your guess is good as mine.
At the moment, I can go around the whole resort without encountering any obstacles and the whole course is shared by few lucky golfers but would like to see some "hustle-bustle" - very soon.
Regards.
Ravi.
