Hi all,
I was out in Corvera for Christmas, just got back on Wednesday night. Had a great time, the weather was kind (mostly). It was warmer than expected, most days were around 14 degrees, and our last day it was 22 degrees! Really did NOT want to come home!
The resort is looking really well, and coming on nicely. Of course we'd all love it all to be further on but there you go!
I took some photos and put a few up on this site, I have only uploaded 6 from about 30 so if anyone wants me to upload the rest or has any specific questions about how Corvera is looking please let me know.
Regards,
Ian

Hi Ian
Thanks for the photographs. We have just booked flights for February and are looking forward to seeing for ourselves how things are progressing, but would really appreciate seeing any other photographs you have taken. How has work progressed on the Clubhouse?
Happy New Year to all Corverians - completers and non-completers!!

Hi All,
Happy New Year. I was at Corvera over the Xmas period returned on 1st jan to -2C from 21 and sunny Corvera. Played few rounds of golf. The range is the best I have ever seen anywhere. Practice (putting and chipping areas) areas are immaculate. ALL the GREENS' surfaces are absolutely wonderful. Fairways and Tee areas needs another 6 months atleast BUT playable - no complaints. Saw green staff working away on the course every day.
The resort is a bit deserted (perhaps Xmas period but exchange rate is definitely a factor) but security staff are active and quite visible. Few teething problems with snagging issues but being resolved. All developers have cut down on their staff.
Club house has reached the first floor but the hotel................ your guess is good as mine. Economic stress has put dampers on almost every aspect of growth. Surrounding roads are quite impressive including the road from motorway to Corvera and even Corvera town has smartened up - A LOT.
No decent restaurants yet................ unless you travel to Murcia centre (only 15 minutes away).
Construction work on the resort still carries on (club house and other phases).
Very pleased and if the new airport news is correct - this resort will be"sought after".
Optimistic Ravi.

Hi All,
We returned from Corvera before christmas having stayed 3 weeks and completed on our Menta Apart. We return in a week to spend 10 weeks there. We have some snagging issues which are still not resolved. We used the 3k for white goods,tv,and shower bathroom fittings we hope will be installed before we arrive??????????.We shopped around for our furniture and finally ordered from Mar Menor Furniture(Christina there was very helpfull and spoke perfect english) Castor Furniture for the lounge and Costa Calida Bedding in San Pedro. There is great value in furniture if you shop around but you need time to do so.Our furniture has been confirmed for delivery the day after we return there from Castor in San Javier they have good quality and a great selection. We had the beds delivered before we left 3 days after ordering. There is a fantastic selection of lighting shops but fittings can be expensive,Leroy Merlin Is the best value for light fittings etc.
The resort is looking great but very very quiet. We were surprised at the size of the storeroom its great to have, situated under the apartment. Corvera town has many new shops everything you need is there and a market on sundays. There is also a new chinese shop just opened in Alcazeres its a must for a visit for all your bits like bins,, bathroom mats 1 euro(example same mat here is 10euro and same quality), and many many more, great prices great selection. The bedding box was or Ikea for bedding.

Hi all,
I have had a couple of requests for more photos so I have uploaded another 11. I took these on the 30th December, but have listed them under 31st December and 1st January to diffentiate from those already uploaded - the site only allows 6 photos to be uploaded at a time (which is probably a good idea!).
The Clubhouse features in a couple of the photos though I am sorry I did not take a closer one of it. You can see it better if you enlarge those particular shots, its up to the first floor and seems to be progressing OK. I asked several people when I was over there about when it might be finished and got various answers including 'in the Spring', 'Easter', and even 'September!
Best of luck to all, looking forward to many happy times out there...
Rgds,
Ian

Just to echo some of the comments made - we have also ordered some furniture from Mar Menor Furniture in Los Alcazares - quality seemed better than most and prices reasonable - should be delivering in Jan so I will let you know if it turns up on time (they came recommended by someone who used them in another resort).
T&D Services (Tom and Dean) have been really helpful - they came recommended by Roy Howitt and are sorting out all our lighting which we bought from Leroy Merlin which were much cheaper than most - although I would also recommend the lighting shop in San Javier (bought some from there too) - Tom and Dean are picking it all up and installing it so no hassel for us!
We are using Flatpaxabia to pick up and assemble our ikea furniture bits (beds, etc) - they seem super efficient and although not cheap I am feeling confident that they will do a good job - this is booked in for early Feb so I will let you know how it goes in case anyone is thinking of buying goods from ikea and needs this service.
Finally - looking online, I was thinking of buying tv, etc from Pixmania.com which I have bought from in the UK but actually although it is a bit more, there seem to be some good prices at Carrefour. If anyone can recommend a good tv place let me know.
We are out early feb so if anyone has any restaurant recommendations we are all ears!
Paul

Media Mart, who are in Parque Mediterrano in Cartagena and also near Ikea, I think, at Murcia have a large choice of electrical goods including TVs, sales are just starting now in Spain. Also Euronics shops, though with less stock normally have good deals, there is one near Mercadona opp Muebles Mar Menor in Los Alcazares
