Cheapest Car Hire?

Hi everyone,

Looking for any reccomendations for cheap car hire. I know I've left a bit later than normal, but for July,  the prices being quoted are quite extreme. Even taking the poor exchange rate into account its still a complete rip-off, feels like a massive boot to the ging-gangs and adding to the Penance of being on CDA

Anyone have any ideas?

I too have been looking at prices for July and August, and the cheapest I could get for a fiesta for 28th July - 25th August was 810 euros with decodecarhire.co.uk. I priced the car with a lot of the ones in the airports and they were all over 1000. Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply, I checked it out amongst dozens of others and eventually found a Clio on the Sixt website. The hire period is for 19 days (16 July-4 August). We managed to hire it for £518.00.

Normally we hire well in advance but due to a family illness it fell down our priority list.

So the obvious moral here to everyone is to make sure to book as well in advance as possible. Some of the rental firms vary so greatly from one comparison site to another.

Hi Onecall, what a stupid comment, they are simply asking if there is any cheaper car hire, if you hadn't bothered looking on the various threads about carhire and fuel ripoffs people are looking for suggestions, perhaps you don't mind paying hundreds of pounds, when if you had took advice from someone else you could have saved quite alot of money. Read his thread again. My comment referred to his comment regarding PENANCE on CDA.

My reply had nothing to do with Car hire prices, just the negativity which surrounds some people.
