Train link from Costa Del Sol to southern France

Hi All

Just returned today from completing, snagging and furnishing our apartment. We think Roda Golf will be fabulous as it is stylish and different.  Worthy of mention at Roda Golf was Sonia in Customer Services who got all the on site plumbers and electricians to our apartment to fix the boiler  - and Augustine the Technical Manager for fixing our windows.   We also had tremendous help from various other  people and thought we would make our recommendations public immediately because we were so impressed. 

We used Gary from www.Polaraircostablanca.com for our air conditioning and what a fab job he did - professional, courteous and well priced - and on time!  He was however a tad peeved as someone else buying at Roda Golf who had tried to negotiate a bulk deal with him on behalf of other owners and this person was trying to get a personal fee out of Gary for introducing people to him. I can't believe that someone would do this but there you are - you never can tell with people.    All we can say is that we thoroughly recommend Gary and his team.

With regard to Furniture  - we used a local supplier - Steve from www.Furniture4spain.com.  Although he has reasonably priced packs, we were out in November 2006 and we put together a great selection of furniture from samples in his warehouse and catalogues and the finished look is wonderful.  Again, we have absolutely no hesitation on recommending him and his company to all of you.

I think the whole Resort will be fab - and we look forward to meeting up with fellow residents as and when.

I would like to assure all forum members the contact i have had with Polarair has only been in the best interests of all concerned.

Last Oct i spent long time reserching various AC companies and ended up with a short list of 3. When i went out to  Murcia for 7 days i took time out of my holiday to meet with  the 3  AC companies with a veiw to not only finding the best deal but also the most reliable company.

Please be assured i have not made a quick buck or received any personal fee from Polarair.

When Gary from Polarair was on site fitting Sandras units he was approached by a Dutch guy Ron Bol and also a furniture company who both asked if he was prepared to do some kind of deal for business put his way.This is maybe where the situation has become twisted.

In closing i have always tried my best to give an honest opinion on many of the forum threads and trust the above situation will not damage my good character.

Hi all, i've been looking at buying a property to retire in on Roda so have read with interest this forums posts (glad to see most have been positive) but then i came across this thread which i found a little strange.

my daughter lives quite close to the Polarair man you refer to so naturally called him to fit her AC, unfortunately her experience was the complete opposite of the recommendation he was given here, sloppy workmanship and overpriced, sadly i was in the Uk when this happened but i finally got another company to sort it and all is ok.

The strange part i refered to though was sugarmummy's comment "When Gary from Polarair was on site fitting Sandras units he was approached by a Dutch guy Ron Bol and also a furniture company who both asked if he was prepared to do some kind of deal for business put his way" ......why would the dutch man and the furniture company go all the way to Roda coincidentally bump into each other on the same day when they all actually live in the same town 30kms away and live just a few doors away from each other !!!       strange isn't it.

I am sorry that you found Polarair lacking.  I also have to speak as I find, and they did a great job for us and in fact when their workmanship was compared by my husband (who inspected the job) to the finish of Roda installed units on the same roof, it was apparent that a better and quite frankly keener priced job had been done. 

I too found the comments by Sugarmummy a little strange and posted accordingly - but how do you know who the furniture guy etc was on that day -were you there too?  Seems the whole world and his wife were at my apartment that day - including us - and I can categorically say I didn't see  a "Dutch guy called Ron Bol!!!!!   Who is "Ron Bol"?

I do hope you are successful in your search for a retirement property on Roda Golf and look forward to comparing air conditioning notes in the future.  The proof of the pudding etc.!

I did not find Polarair lacking at all, i am sure they have many satisfied customers, as i said it was my daughter who was unhappy i merely found another company to rectify the problems she was having.

No i wasnt at your apartment as i think you would have noticed. Sorry a bit confused at the next part of your message but i think you should ask sugarmummy, as i had quoted from his post. If it helps to make it clearer my daughter and the people mentioned in the message all live in the same place or thereabouts .

As soon has my property is completed in the UK i will then hopefully buy a nice resale at Roda, but i would rather look forward to talking about golf and spain than comparing notes on air conditioning. your right the proof is always in the pudding!

You know what they say, if you can't stand the heat, then get the air conditioning!  I am sorry I misunderstood your posting and now realise my mistake.  However, there are lots of new owners who need some reassurance about their choice of contractor - and as I say, I have to speak as I find.

As you say, this particular topic has caused a lot of controversy and its getting quite boring.

So I wish you well with your search for the perfect resale at Roda and look forward to cpmparing notes in the future on golf and Spain!

I would say though, that Roda is a perfect choice and we look forward to a friendly get together at some point in the future.

We have juct come back from Roda golf and it looks great and it will geat better in the summer time.

Ther wos a few problome to begin with but in the end it oll came to gether. Gary at Polarair did our air con and we can not be happier with the serwich that he and Steve did for us. We higly recament them !!!!!!!!

We are going to be very happy in the end with Roda golf, for sure.

I have just come back from roda last week after spending 9 days furnishing our apartment, we are on phase 1.Looks fab.We didnt go through anyone for our furniture package, did it ourselves and saved a lot of money.Everything down to a tin opener cost about 7000 euros.Hard work to get everything just right but so worth it.Cannot wait to enjoy the place.we are planning to go out again may 11th.Just started our own website as we have been advertising in our local newspaper, have a look and see what you think.www.rodagolf4u.co.uk       Anyone going around our time , would love to meet and have a bevy or too   from karren and rahim
