Hi,
I have just returned from a fretful 6 days. On Friday evening i received an email from Leyva telling me my locks had been tampered with. My mother lives within 2 hours driving distance so she drove straight over to find both my reja door and main door had been forced. Unfortunatley i am now minus several electrical items, and the place was a bit of a mess! My mother called Patt Dunn (ADS Locksmith) to force entry to my apartment as she could no longer gain access because of the damage to the lock. Patt and his wife where there with 10 minutes, and i would highly recommend them.
I flew over first thing Sunday morning, and it soon became apparent that we where not the only victims. It seems that most of the apartments on block 5 have been forced in one way or another. I then met a man from block 4 who was actually in bed when the robbers struck! He believes that he was gased as he did not hear the burglar break into his bedroom and remove several valuable items.
The incidents have been reported to the Guardia Civil and whilst we where there, we have seen them driving around on a few occassions.
Before i left i have had Securitas Direct fit an alarm for extra security since my rejas are no longer a deterent. The guy who i dealt with did not speak English, however i had the number of a translator who helped me at the police station and he was a great help. If anyone is interested in obtaining information on Securitas Direct, then please 'PM' me and i will tell you what i know. The alarm system, in my opinion, seems great and also has a panic alarm directly through to the Guardia should you need it whilst in residence.
