Me............ 3 bed downstairs apartment in J4 ......... why don't we let others see what we've had done ?

Anyone had anything else done that they can recommend ?

1) Outside hoses fitted front and back

2) Enclosure fitted under the stairs at the front to house sports and cleaning stuff.

3) Enclosure at the back to cover in washing machiine and tumble drier

4) Canopy to the front - don't waste your money on a big umbrella as i did initially !!

5) Full hot/cold air-con - every room, cool needed in summer, heat needed in winter

6) Bidet removed (waste of space)

7) Sink swapped for larger sink and unit underneath

8) Bath removed - replaced with walk in shower (best thing i've had done)

9) Full length mirrors put in bedrooms 2 and 3

10) Large narrow Ikea draws put in bedrooms 2 and 3

11) Drawers 'Ikea' put in all bedrooms in the wardrobes

12) Safe fitted (never been used tho as i've nothing left !!)

13) Security shutter and flyscreens on front patio doors

Hi Shampers,

How effective are the fly screens?

I've been thinking about having these fitted for the summer as last July the flys were a complete pain in the bahooky

Thanks

JK

Flyscreens work well when closed ! ...........  but i think the fruitflies (now coming out - think they last about 6 weeks ?) get in via vents & aircon as well, was a big topic on here last year with lots of different views as to how to keep em down, e.g. leave em their own saucer of sweet white wine out, use beer mats over your drinks, sticky flowers on windows, fly paper etc

Hi Dave,

Why oh Why a tumble drier??? Not very green of you, Two minutes on a high rise and your clothes are dry, whites are bleach by the sun so no need for whitening detergents, our only mistake was not buying two penthouses overlooking the course.

Towels and smalls larges............... i need em to be soft on my delicate skin, tumble drying is a luxury just for this  so it gets used at least twice a year then !

............ everything else gets hung up (below the wall line !) on the airer on the back terrace

Hi dave,

Are you not aware that tumle driers knock the stuffing out of your smalls  sorry extra  larges and towels and they dont last as long, it is also better to dry yourself with a rough towel and it acts as an exfoliator, soft towels are for woooooooooo......seees and dont dry you as well, do you no nothing.

Like the tumble dryer idea- would be a bonus on those going home days when you dont know if everything will be dry enough to put away! Friends have a place in France out in the country and when they arrive they put all the bedding in the tumble dryer before putting it on the bed and the towels before they use them. Having stayed at the apartment the last two Christmas's can see that might work better than a couple of hot water bottles to warm up the beds n bedding after it sitting in the cool/cold for weeks on end!

I really think i need to educate all of you.  A cold bed and room are far healthier than a warm stuffy room. You inhale more oxygen allowing for a deeper more relaxing sleep.   Si is convince in the winter Penguins and Polar bears live in our room as I sleep with the windows open.

Dave you really need someone who knows best. Got an absolute stunner of a friend.  Could introduce, and like you she  loves her fine dinning and wine.

Hi

The best things we did to our apartment ( 2 bed ) is :-

1. Put shelves in all the wardrobes.

2. Put a kitchen door on the space for the tall fridge freezer.

3. Built a custom wine rack to fill the space where the fridge now goes in the space for the washing machine.

4. extractor fan in the bathroom ( although would have preferred to position exactly over the shower).

Cheers Simon

Our 2 bed Jardins apartment Put a kitchen unit in the dishwasher space Removed bidet and got a tall free standing cupboard in its place Bathroom extractor fan fitted Made a cupboard in the understairs area (Excellent for keeping the cluter away) Had the 2 hanging light cables removed in the bedrooms and put ceiling fans in the centre Air con - Hot and cold Electric radiators The only mistake I can think of is putting bamboo on the roof terrace pergola, although it served its purpose for about 18 months its now become brittle and breaking in the winds, looking forward to the new canopy that's ordered and due to be fitted before our next visit. Best purchases:- Anything for the roof terrace, love it up there, bbq, paella rings for those lovely sunny evenings and couple mountain bikes for getting around the resort.

Put granite worktops in.  The ones provided are so cheap looking and we didn't want to put a table and chairs in our 3bed ground floor (4 kids - we need the space for the sofa!).  We put an overhang on the lounge side so the kids can eat there breakfast there and no spills down the wall!  The sink was also turned the other way round so we have a lot more useful worktop space.  It looks really nice and is much more paractical with the kids.  Think someone put some pics on here recently.

We also put in 4 drawer storage units in each bedroom. Use a large outdoor table that converts to a smaller size that can be put inside or outside. Have put in fan/lights into bedrooms and going to install air con into living room area.

Can anyone suggest a company to enclose outside storage areas back and front of downstairs 3 bed apart?
