I bought directly from the builder. I spent many months searching the web for the right development until a work mate introduced me to Jumilla. He and his wife had bought through an agency. Thats how I began thinking about SJ and their properties.
Last year, I visited the London Golf Show and to my suprise, there they were, San Jose with a massive stand promoting direct sales for the Santa Ana del Monte Jumilla Golf Resort. I spoke to a young man called Jonathan who informed me, gave me publicity material, prices and we arranged a free viewing trip. I was told there were no liscences on the spot . He was completly honest and he keeps on e mailing me when ever I ask something. 2 weeks later I purchased a Casablanca property. On the same day that I signed the contract, I chose my tiles and extras for the property and chose how I anted the house orientated N, E, S , W. facing the street or the golf course etc...
Since then, question I have , question I have receieved an answer for and I have not had to wait long for it. And its direct from the builder.
I enjoy reading the posts EOS as well as on SADM, but feel that there is a lot of confusing information. Sorry guys,,,I dont wish to offend anybody. We are lucky to have people like Linda living there and keeping us posted, but I always contact SJ to contrast information. I suggest that if you have any questions that you contact SJ directly. They are very helpfull and you can send them e mails or call even if you are not a direct client.
SJ are sending all their direct clients (Those who have bought direct from the builder) an up date regarding the Santa Ana Resort which they have rerquested Anna at SADM to post as well on her web page. This is to inform that although work has comenced on the infrastructure, golf course and land movements, work on the actual properties will start on the 5th of February. Footings for the properties in R15 have been dug out, 47 Cranes have been ordered, 2 are in place and footings for the rest are being prepared. More trucks have been purchased by SJ and are on site. Site foremen who were in the Playa Golf complex near their main office in Torrevieja have been re located to Jumilla this week to over look construction. Olives trees bordering phases R15, R16, R17 have been planted, work on the gate way has began and has a completion date for april this year and work on the main boulevard has begun. Its all happening and I have seen the photos that I have been sent by Jonathan. Liscenses are due mid feb and I intend on traveling over next month to see it for myself.
As Darren says, buy direct from the builder. Agents ussually dont bother, as all they care about is their comision and once they get it, they move on to another client. My friends who bought through an agency ask me for information as they never get return calls from their agent.
To Kenny,,,your agent should know when SJ needs extras confirmed. SJ prefer this to be done as soon as you sign. Specially if you have a garage, or making it into a bedroom, this needs to be sent to the Jumilla Town hall so that at completion its reflected in the title deeds and obra nueva. Extras can be chosen at the Jumilla Office with a girl called Nuria or in Torrevieja as kevin has said with Pilar (She speaks perfect English).
There is a lot of rumours about Jumilla Golf but I try not to let them worry me. Jumilla Golf will be great once its completed. The mountains, the town (even if it is down market according to someone on the site) I really like it, its spanish and rural...what do you expect...but wait until the resort has been completed. The town will benifit from this and will improve. The dual carridge way that will be built from the motorway and that will pass the resort will cut car journey by half, I cant wait.
To all my future neighbours, I hope I have been able to put some minds to rest and I hope to post more often on EOS. To those who are thinking about buying in Jumilla, go to the builder for information and prices, they will not forget about you after you sign and pay your 30%. By the way....San Jose are relocating their main office to the city of Orihuela, were they are building a new office building just for them. (Currently main office in Torrevieja, and has become to small for them). It will move for April aproximately.
Best wishes to you all....and sleep well.....
