Hi all - I have started a petition asking the council to do something about the smell of sewage at the top of the development.
It states:
Los abajo firmantes, vecinos de Playa Golf, sector La Cuerda y Lomas de Cabo Roig, ante los continuos malos olores procedentes de la depuradora cercana, y debido a los perjuicios turísticos, económicos, sanitarios y de higiene y por la mala imagen del municipio y la pérdida de calidad de vida de quienes allí residen, SOLICITAN al Excmo Ayuntamiento de Orihuela la solución a este problema a la mayor brevedad posible.
The undersigned, residents of Playa Golf, sector La Cuerda and Lomas de Cabo Roig, are concerned regarding the continuing bad smell from the nearby sewage plant, due to the damage to tourism, the local economy, health and hygiene and the poor image of the municipality and loss of quality of life for those living there, WE REQUEST that the Orihuela Municipality find a solution to this problem as soon as possible.
For those of you who are here at the moment, there are forms for signature at many of the bars and restaurants or you can PM me and I will make sure you get a form. You need to put either your NIE or passport number on the form or they will not accept your signature - in case you are just a figment of my imagination!
