I agree with the general opinions that the course is very good but for me I am personally disappointed with the finishing around the course which in some parts looks really scruffy.

Hi BFR,
Can I suggest a wee visit to Scotland, the course is no better than average. I also had a Golfing holiday in Estartee, North Spain, all the courses I played were better than Condado I'm afraid. Simply a matter of opinion. I like the course but it's not in my top 30/40.

I would agree, there are far better courses around. Take a trip to La Manga!
Condado is worth the current fees, but not a penny more. Too many people with rose tinited spex!

I find it quite bizarre when a number of people compare a course which is maybe open for 12 months to long established courses. Did you expect an instant world class perfect golf course....maybe you had on your rose tinted specs?
We all know the course isn't finished yet...it needs tidying up...the areas between the fairways need work. No one denies this...but these seem to be the only negatives peoiple come up relating to the course.
When people say it is a fantastic course, and I agree with them, they are talking about the standard of the design and layout, the amazing greens, and quality fairways.
Anyone who comes off that course and doesn't think those greens in both design and the way they play are top class is in the minority. I've played with and talked to many golfers and its the one thing everyone agrees on.
I'm not going to defend this possible €100 fee as it seems very high in todays times and is not justified at the stage of development the course is at. But I would say that if La Torre green fees were €25 and CDA were €50 I wouldn't need a car to get to golf.

I am relating to the design and layout of the course. My comments are made in relation to a 100e fee. It's too expensive for an average course. The greens design is excellent, but I've yet to play them without rutts and cuts etc. It is a good course, but can you justify the expected 100e fee, if that is to be the case. Don't intend to be negative just realistic. Sending a message to Olagolf, their having a laugh.

I'm in full agreement on the €100 if that is the proposed green fee.
Hope you get a chance to play the greens at their best...I think they are one of the top features of the course.

I have only just joined this forum after months of viewing comments, one question I would like to ask Darren Wilkes how can you comment about the quality of the Condado course when you admit yourself you dont play golf, we all have our own views, yet do stop commenting about simple facts you know nothing or very little about.

Giles, 10/10 for observation. You are correct I dont play golf. I have walked around the course though, like I have walked around La Manga.
Granted I have not played either, but from my observations LaManga looks far nicer. Although there are people who have played the course who feel the same.
Also wondering if Olagolf can market this as a Nicklus Signature Course? Is Nicklus still connected with this course?

Darren, ......To be honest you really are talking nonsense again. Have a go at CdA daily if you must, but to comment on something you know absolutely nothing about is just laughable. Having holidayed at La Manga for over 20 years I can confirm that the 3 courses are indeed in good condition - and aesthetically look good. But I can assure you at €180 per round (visitors price) they are not a great test of golf or value for money. The South course, which is meant to be the best one at LM, is very flat and has a few lakes but in design is none comparable to the Signature Course at CdA. Ours has been open only 8 months, it's development severely checked by the credit crunch & demise of PW, La Manga's over 30 years now......so just cannot be compared. "La Manga looks far nicer".........Stick to twisting about the resort......nobody can deny you are an expert at that , probably twist of scratch!!. Whether Nicklaus is connected or not anymore (and as the course is called "The Signature" I suggest he still is) doesn't really matter - key point is he designed it...end of, that can never be removed
Without a doubt our course at CdA is very scruffy around the edges, and clearly now needs further investment on drainage. Even with the addition of the Temp clubhouse Ola Golf cannot justify €100 right now.....and it just will not happen.
It is a very good test of golf, not the best in Europe, not the best in Spain (Valderama @ £200..?) maybe not even the best in Murcia (La Finca....?).......but it is a cracking course, full of risk & reward challenge from the tee, great greens & surrounding areas to challenge chipping & putting.
Take it for what it is......A great NEW course that will give pleasure to all WHO PLAY, that can only get better in the coming years. If & When the charges get crazy, and I do agree €100 at the moment would be crazy, then that is the time to act......
Regards
Nick

I will categorically state now I did not buy on Condado for the Oasis town centre. I don't care about the town centre and whether it brings people to the resort, or the quality of shops in the town centre
Now about this town centre...I think the shops will be rubbish and will look untidy..and as for charging 400 euro's a day for parking...simply unacceptable....blah blah blah
ring any bells Darren...

I will never quit and this banter simply encourages me, I love it.
Some of you make good points, except Alhama Gardener. Your coments would only be valid if we had an Oasis and no course. That way you would have a right to be upset.
The golfers are bound to be happier than the shoppers at Condado!
Even I admit that the golfing facilities far exceed the shopping facilities.... Now I am off to the Trafford centre to get some horrid trousers and a pringle top, then I might sample this [sic]"Amazing" course, that you defend as if it were family.

hmmm! Your mob mentality has made me reconsider!
On second thoughts The Club house will be completed in October, I am convinced the golf Course is world class, Condado is much better than La Torre and Mar Menor, The Oasis and Bears Best courses will be a great when the arrive and I look forward to increased rental and enhanced property values in the near future.
Maybe Irony isnt lost on me Mr Gardener?
