I think Poland's a big place so you've probably only had dealings with a small minority.  Any Poles I've met or had dealings with have been nice guys and hard workers.

Anyway I doubt that the initial "construction" workforce would be affording renting on CDA in huge numbers and certainly if it was built rents would be too high for the ordinary worker.

Likewise I would be surprised if these people would block buy apartment blocks.

Even so I would have no problems with a bit more diversity on the resort.  Just think a couple of thousand workers would drive the development of the resort!!

I might have to add Polish to my "To Do List" after Spanish.

Jill, I'm afraid that comment does sound bad, we can't make racist statements like that. You are also presuming no one on the forum is of those cultural backgrounds so no offense will be taken.- and from my own personal background I can assure you that you're wrong and you dont have to be from a particular cultural background to find that attitude offensive anyway.

Had CdA grown as originally intended we would have had workers from across the world anyway. CdA would have been enormous requiring staff for The Foro, The Agora, The Oasis, three golf courses needing ground staff as well as, bar tenders and chefs for clubhouses/restaurants/cafe's, other shopping parades within CdA 11, Hotel, sportzone, all maintenance and refuse collecters.

Thats after the building works of course . All of which would have been a high percentage of migrant workers, which up to the recession had been a major part of Spain's workforce. Is it just okay for them to have done all that building work then they should disappear back to whence they came? Many, many are now unemployed, dropped like stones immediately the recession bit although they'd been encouraged to come over to Spain by the major building work available and many are destitute.

As my own family was planning a golf rental business we would have employed cleaners on the team as would have many other owners who envisaged developing a small/large business. Not many of those would/could have been residents who just want a few hours work a week- many would have been migrant workers who have settled and live in the area.

And on that note that's me done. I can easily put up with the banter and the knockers on the forum but this attitude is a step too far and I can only hope it's not going to be further represented on this thread or infact on the resort if we do get the theme park or any other major development on that land. I'd decided to keep my stake in our apartment and see how things pan out and therefore felt I could continue to contribute on here. But as for this thread, if that the way it goes, I'm out.....

Well said.

Many companies would block rent properties for their workforce as we/I do in the uk. I believe CDA owners wouldn't charge enough to keep the workforce out. If you charged £ 400 + p/wk which slept 6 guy's it would be v/cheap. I rent houses in the uk and are currently pay in excess of £1500 + all bills p/cm which sleeps 5. It's what happens when large projects are underway. Time to wake up and smell the roses. Life could be very different even if it's not CDA and within 30 minutes..

As for the Poles and others - very hard working and put British workforce to shame in most cases in my experience.

Still all speculation and not a single fact about location yet.

Hi

I could not agree more about Polish people.

I have met many Polish,  Bosnians & Croation people as Walsall, where we live has become very multicultural over the years.

What great people they are. Very warm & friendly.

There are of course good & bad in all races & the english certainly have a large number of the bad kind

Many occupying prominent positions too.

Jan
