Hi
My wife and I bought our penthouse off-plan nearly 3 years ago now. So we have been right in there from the start, actually I think we first to move into our block. Everytime we went over we would stand on the course side and try and estimate how many flats were sold/occupied. This was based on how many flats had their terrace lights fitted. Hardly scientific, I know.
In August 2009 there were 13 of 32 flats sold.
In August 2010 there were 27 of 32 flats sold
We just came back 2 days ago and the figure of 27 hasnt changed. It will be interesting to that to see if that changes between now and Easter 2011 when we next go back. Does anyone have any note of how many are sold in their block?
We live in Bloque 6
Best wishes
JK

We have a penthouse on Block 1 and out of the 32 I think about four of them are sold!!! I too look to see if lights have been put up it does give you some small idea.
We are on the ground floor on the end of block by the little alleyway that leads onto the golf course - someone has bought on the first floor to the left of us. They were out at the same time as us and I hung around on our patio to say "hola neighbouroonee" and "where are you from" but unfortunately he chose not to speak to me when I waved. To**er sprang to mind. See I was being friendly and this is what happens - never mind I will still try and be a good neighbour.
We also feel a little bit out of the way but are hoping if the theme park goes ahead and the economy picks up further properties will be built around the scrub land by the side of us.

We used that theory in the Jardines and had been pleased to see more lights appearing each visit. However, you may find a few more are owned than you realise as we discovered that the apartments below and next to us had been sold some time ago and had Spanish owners- but for the time being are empty. Maybe the Paramount news will see that change or maybe they'll be back on the market soon.

Having been out a lot recently and had a good look round, the occupier rates for the Penthouses from blocks 8 through to 16 are very high with a few ground floor penthouses still looking vacant. It is true that many are owned but have not been moved into. The one next door to me is owned by a director of Polaris and I know a few more are in the same state for now - which is intersting in itself.
The blocks further down towards the driving range (1 - 7) seem much less well occupied and there is very little sign of movement when I walk round. These may well be great bargain opportunities for those thinking of cashing in on the Paramount thing.
Clearly the higher ground locations and proximity to clubhouse have been a major draw.

Weren't some properties transfered in leiu of income or redundancy pay? I seem to remember that some of the sub- contractors got apartments in leiu of payment too. I know alot of the employees bought apartments at the beginning- probably standard practice. When a work colleague was looking at the Penthouses the PW rep kept guideing her to look over at Naranjos because she had one over there she was desperate to sell!

Hi everyone. We are in Block 15. In September, when I was last out, there appeared to be seven out of 32 properties still empty.

Hi All,
We are in Block 9. My understanding is that we have only 15/32 sold/occupied at the moment, which does cut across Faulkey's theory a bit, as we are on the highest ground & adjacent to the intended clubhouse location - with special views of the course 7 the lakes of the 9th, 10th & 18th.
Like Loganraes, we bought off-plan in July 2007 & Block 9 was always our preferred location. Initially we were informed that they had all been sold & so we were about to purchase one in Block 13, when one in Block 9 suddenly became available.
Can only assume that the crisis led to a few pulling out, but had also heard that PW were hanging to a few chosen plots...??
Regards
Nick

I think Millennium would have this information as they are in contact with the owners to get community fees. Not sure they would pass on this information but I guess the President would be able to get it.

Some gaps could be caused by property agents who block reserved apartments when they were first released- then pulled out as the financial crisis deepened. In Feb 2007 we were told no 1 st floor south facing Jardines apartments and no top floor penthouse apartments ( of the 1st phased just released at that time) remained.
