Hi All, With so many of you going out in the near future, I am wondering if you will be exploring Mar Menor area. If anyone is going down to La Manga two very good restaurants are The Village in Los Belones and Bar El Sol in the plazza in front of Hotel Cavanna. I do not have shares in either!!. Just know it is good food.

We try and avoid La Manga to be honest and stay in Los Alcazares. Have you been to the Encarnacion?? Lovely old restaurant - food hit and miss though as they try too hard! Worth it to see lovely old place though. Nice for breakfast sitting outside looking at the sea.
Someone said the fish restaurant in the next town on the beach was good??

Its quite funny Tina how people like different things and places, we love La Manga and are not very keen on Los Alcarzares. i think we like La Manga because we mix with so many Spanish families. Carol

Hi Carol
Where do you stay when you visit La Manga ?
We have looked at various rental sites and would be interested in any recommendations for the future.
It was a close decision but we have now booked for the Summer and decided to stay in the Los Alcazares area to get an even better feel for the place.
Last year we stayed on Polaris Mar Menor and basically had to drive to the beach - parking was not so easy - so this time we are staying in El Divino complex which is within walking distance of the beach and restaurants etc, etc. so at least we can enjoy our evening meals with a few sangrias without any drink/drive risks...
However, we would like to experience La Manga before we settle into LTR, so any recommendations would be appreciated.
Anthony & Katherine.

Hi hope you are all ok.For a few years we stayed up at the La Manga Club, but spent so much time down on the strip that the last few years we have stayed in Playa Honda/Playa Paraiso. You have to make sure though that the Manzana you stay on has a communal pool, as some havent. You are virtually on the Mar Menor beach. If you want to be more central anywhere near the Thomas Mistro Marina is lovely, in the summer though it is definitely Spanish, which we love. There are some lovely apartments there right on the beach. There are loads of bars and restaurants and you can sit by the Marina watching life go by. Lovely on a warm evening. Carol

Carol, we stayed at one of the new build properties at Playa Paraiso in 2005 when I purchased at LTR. I remember a nice retaurant there at the seafront but don't remember the name. Lovely half-roast chicken, mmmm....

Hi Andy Would it be Bar Apicoco, it is very popular, in summer if you do not book you cannot get in. The other one is Rest. Julietta but a bit pricey.
