I am in the process of looking at buying at SG, but have heard conflicting reports about the legalities of phases 2 & the golf course. Not sure if this is a rumour, but I have a mail from an agent in Spain..."It doesn't matter whether the project is funded by the bank or not, it appears that only "part" of this site is legal for building, if they don't get a license to build what they have planned they are not able to build - Town Hall Planning is currently scrutinising all build around the areas and with elections coming up soon it is possible that no decisions will be made on anything with currently no license until aftr that. We have a client who has waited 2 years to get his property and has just been told they will be delayed another 6 months. He isn't happy, but has paid 40% so has to wait unless he gets his money back which he is now fully entitled to do. However, the solicitors charge 1400 euros to get money back, even with a bank guarantee. We are no longer dealing with Sierra Golf as we are lead to believe that they have no permission for the current phase that is being built, phase 2 or the golf course!!"
I hope this wrong! If anyone has any information or concrete evidence that this is not the case, please can you pass onto me?
Thx
Craig

hi craig,
I am buying in M24 - 13 and signed up last june, we then hired independent lawyers who spent a few weeks carrying out all the necessary checks, they said that Masa bought this land 15 years ago and had applied for all the necessary planning permissions - they did the usual searchs for us and I cannot believe that they would not have highlighted to us if the planning permission was only for part of the site. I will highlight this to my lawyer and see what response I get, will keep you informed.

Hi Caroline, I didn't want to scare anyone with this info, but it could just be agents playing games against each other to try & sell on another development. I'm sure your lawyers did the right checking etc. Would appreciate any feedback.
Many thx

Hi every1 I am buying a green on M15 and I am using a legal fiscal that is in the process of opening her office on the site.
I cant recommend them highly enough. I found them on a google search for sierra golf. Take a look for yourself www.sierragolfservices.com
If I have any questions I send them an e-mail and normally get an instant reply.
I hope to be signing for my house at the start of April. The company also offer a property service as well including all my white goods and A/C
Very professional company and have taken all the last 3 years of waiting and stress off my shoulders. Fantastic!!!!!!!

Hi All,
With the up and coming hand over of our houses on Sierra Golf, (I say this tongue in Cheek!!!) has anyone had quotes for legal fees?
We have been quoted 650 euros to carry out the legal checks preparation of title deed and accompany us to the notary and do the necessaries. I am not sure if this is, or is not, a good quote?
Any comments?
