Paddy, try £20 if you are not too fussy!

Andy, not all negative posts are by people who bought off plan to try and flip it. I had no intention of selling my property for a profit and I have made one or two negative posts! (check back through some of the threads if you don't believe me)

I do agree that there are a lot of nice new roads being built around Condado, but you cant go on them if you are drunk! I think Condado is a great resort for T-Total people and kids.

If you want a drink with your evening meal, the taxi fares make Condado an expensive holiday.

I think if you buy now at £63,000.00 and Paramount does happen (which I doubt) then Condado could posibily be good investment. However if you bought at 126500 Euros then you will be waiting many many years to break even!

For my holidays I would prefer Spain, for investment stick to Bolton!!!

Good grief the thread has gone to the dogs!

No doubt Bolton has its charms but this thread was about CdA.

Darren- you bought a self catering apartment so do your own cooking, order in or bbq then no need to drink and drive. Otherwise restrain your self during the evening meal off the resort and enjoy a good drink on your own terrace- much cheaper!!! Just dont see where people are coming from with this eating out and driving problem, can't you have a meal without becoming a typical brit abroad? We Brits see ourselves as being able to hold our drink, documented evidence across the globe denys that so hold onto the orange juice and drink at home.

CdA is a good buy, time will tell- Paramount or no Paramount. Over 50% of all Bank stock has been sold now and that doesnt account for private sales. This summer should be much busier and I forsee PW begining to step up to the plate in the coming months and if they dont another developer will. That may bring other issues as they wont keep to the plans PW originally had but I genuinely doubt PW will either as they wont buy all the land back, and all the planning permissions have lapsed which gives them room to manouvre. Interesting times ahead.

One thing that people seem to forget is that CDA is still a very young resort, we are only 3 years from first completing so I think things are looking ok, I still don't see how Darren can say it is going to take many years for the prices to come back up to what we paid, no one can foresee that, otherwise if you could see what would happen why didn't you foresee the collapse , I think for a LONGTERM investment property is the way, Short term unlucky!

Nobody did  foresee the collapse, Sir Trevor McDonald did try for years telling people not buy, the crash is comming only for house prices to keep going up.What i would say just be glad you bought a polaris property and not one of the properties from the builders that have gone bust and taken your money with them ,Ive been on many other golf resorts for example Mosa Trajectum, Peraleja Golf Resort and you will find  part built properties next door to houses that are lived in its BAD,.and these properties cost loads more money than an polaris property on cda.

newworld you make a good point and it's one I raised along time ago. Many, many resorts in Spain and elsewhere have been left with decaying skeletons of buildings on the horizon and inter mixed with completed properties. Only 2k from where I am now is a vast swathe of land all set up with the framework of roads and a row of half built villa's-  it's a huge eyesore on another wise beautiful coastal stretch of road. In the end it doesnt matter why the financial world went boom -it just did. Polaris did at least finish the buildings they started on Condado and whilst I feel they have let a lot of people down I'm grateful that our resort  has the golf course finished and the buildings that do exist are not part built.

Condado is a young resort and I hope that another developer is going to be interested enough to take over from Polaris though I expect Polaris will slowly  buy back plots of land once Paramount is a certainty. Its a buyers market and once the empty properties are sold we should see a slow increase in prices. Just selling the proerties makes the resort more viable and makes it more likely PW will take back control of the sports venue and consider developing Al Kasar further. Fingers crossed anyway.

We're still in the half full brigade despite the lack of what we were promised

Our alternative choice to Spain was going to be Cape Verde. A work colleague of mine put money down on a property there before we even looked at Condado. 4 years later and despite paying 60% stage payments, they have a half finished property with talk of a class action against the developer. Local import taxes have shot up which makes furnishing considerably more expensive than they budgetted for and still no great improvement in direct flights or infrastructure.

Doesnt make our own issues any easy to bear but just shows what has happened globally
