The Comments |
We have purchased a Azucena in November 2005 F4 R10 No: 623, and we were told the completion would be Jan 2008. From reading some of the comments on the message board, it looks like this is far from the truth, can anyone shead some more light on this subject, and some more up to date pictures would be nice.
We are visiting Santa Ana in May. On our return we will update the message board then on whats happening.

I think those of us on R4 are still waiting to hear
but Darren did say he had a document which has been sent to agents saying there is a 6-12 month delay !!!!!!.
Never mind I will enjoy being put up for that long at SJ's expense

Linda,
Not a 6 mth delay, its a doc that all sales agents get which shows what properties are still available in Phase 1, their cost, plot size and anticipated completion date. So....looking at some of the proprerties on their, and for example in the vicinity of my own (R17-No.54), properties are indicated for release in mid 2008 when I had a date of Sept 2007. So...will they build my property and go off and develop other 'sold' properties first before someone buys the property next door and they return to build it....that I very much doubt. The document cannot be taken 'as read' that the information it details is correct, it's an indicative guideline to property availability and release.
So in essence, what I am saying is it will be very interesting to hear what SJG have to say regarding property completions. As you will respect (for them and us), it would be very damaging for them to put out a negative message regarding delays. So we must all wait for the information they officially release and what our agents advise us
Hope that helps clear it up......clear as mud to me !!!
Darren

Hi all.
S.J. have just started building in earnest and it is now March and our completion date is NOW March 2007, so with the building of some roads and at least one swimming pool which you will need, as well as the electric, gas and water connected to obtain a Habitation Licence, i do not envisage our completion date being much before January 2008. Even then the snagging will have to be done and submitted to S.J. as there are bound to be a few, albeit small things to correct. When the builders have put those things right and the final payment is made to S.J. we are not looking to be able to move in much before March 2008. A year late. I think S.J. may well take on more contracters to speed things up, so people further down the line, may not be as much as 12 months or more behind, but those of us on R-4 i think are looking at a 1 year delay.
Bob and Pauline.

Bob, agree with your assessment, presume that is the reason why sj have remained silent on new completion dates, could be a headache for some being so far behind schedule.

I would think that maybe SJ don't want to say anything till the June deadline in the contract
it seems it is only the first 4 rows who have this date Linda Needham is on row 5 and has a May date
which will be the first as it will cost them a lot in compensation
As you say Bob we have to get the habitation licences first before parting with our hard earned

I would also agree with your assessment Bob. My completion date is also March with the extension takes it to June but no word from SJ as yet.
Hi Auntie Linda. Yes, we have some good weather this week. I sincerely hope it stays that way for all the people who are coming out to Spain in March and there seems to be loads. We are back to 22 degrees for the past 3 days. Weather this year is really strange. We have had some terribly high winds that gust on an off since December. Normally they dont come until April and then only for a few days. For those of you that have been to stay the ugly building David and I call the goat shed, for reasons I wont go into here, had the roof ripped completely off including strong metal beams it was attached too. December was colder than February this year which is unheard of. The blossom is out everywhere and it looks brilliant. Winter (if its at and end), has been extremely short this year with temperatures up and down like a yo yo but also not anywhere near as cold as it has been for the last 5 years.

Hi , somone who has just returned from spain today has queried whether sj have the licence to build the golf course, this could be just another rumour it is on the sadm website, there seems to be very little progress on this front and cant really understand why they are not steaming ahead if all permissions are in place.

Chanta. I dont really understand why they are not getting on with the golf course either, other than the fact that because of the delays the contractor may well be on another job now. I did read the articles in the local papers which said that the permission to go ahead was granted a while back, but it also could have been the first part of a very long process as is usually the case in Spain, as you know. If you ask anyone at SJ, regardless of who, they go very quiet but again they are not good at communicating with each other. I have always put this lack of communication down the the 'what business are you in' syndrome and they are at the end of the day a construction company not a communications company or a sales company but when you try to get anything on the golf course you hit a brick wall.

I think that SJ themselves dont know when the first builings will be ready untill they actually start laying the red bricks they wont committ themselves so they wont let people down its a shame for those who have sold up all ,living in caravans etc that I have read about.
On the golf course I think they will get that ready inline with Phase one so I would think Xmas 2008
Keep your chins up guys
