We have just arrived back last night after spending a week in Spain. We spent some time around the development and espacially phase 3. The weather was fantastic we were in La Matanza last Saturday and it was 30 degrees!
The building work is coming on by leaps and bounds. The main building work appears to be finished apart from the outside wall covering. All inside plasterwork is done and the first 6 apartments have had the kicthens fitted (I have photos I will send you Ellen & Jim) the tiling is complete on the floors (inside and outside) and on the stairs.
Before we all get too excited, when I told our solicitor how far the building work was ahead she cautioned me not to get too carried away as by the time the work is completed and the relevant paperwork is obtained from the authoritys it will be late June. In her experience we may complete in early July but any later everything shuts down in August and it will then be September!
On a happy note we talked to people living on the development and all the break-ins have stopped!!! on two seperate days we were there we saw police patrolling in cars.
Oh, it would appear our little village/community is called "Las Siete Casas" translated this means "The Seven Houses' this sign is on the road up from La Matanva and also the other road from La Murada.
I will post pictures as soon as I can.
We also obtained our NIE numbers this week. We got them in Alicante as we were told by our Spanish solicitor that you cannot get them anywhere else anymore. if anyone wants more info of how we did it please send private message. We have also got an easy to read map off our solicitor showing were the office is in Alicante. I will send it to anyone who wants it.
Brian and Lorraine
