Expiring Passport

Hello

I wondered if anybody has experienced this. Last night I was inputting my Passport Information for BMI Baby and noticed my son's passport expires on the day we fly home.  I have spoken to the Passport Office, checked with the Commonwealth Office and BMI Baby who all say that it is fine, and he can fly that day as his passport will not expire until midnight and we fly in the morning.  We will be flying home from San Javier.

Has anybody else got any advice for me?

As i understand it anyone on a EU passport travelling within the EU are fine if the passport is valid when it is presented.  When you require to get a visa for your visit they will often require the expiry date to be 6 months down the line.

For peace of mind I would get a new passport if I could in case the trip is delayed etc

Technically I believe you do not even need a passport.

Yes you can use the passport, but what would worry me, as last year, people wasnt expecting things like the ash cloud which delayed their flight home, therefore the passport would have expired.

i sent my daughters off last monday and i received the new one on saturday, so it seems to be really quick at the moment
