Lorca Needs Us

 Reading about the state of the majority of buildings in Lorca is terrible - I wondered if the regional or state govt may develop a package to use unsold/under utilised accomodation in the regions sprawling resorts.....I'm all for charity but perhaps a subsidy or grant schem could be developed to compenstate owners of possible accomodation??? CDA is well positioned to support.

What a fantastic idea, Naranjos 5 & 6 are empty so could house a few families for a few months while thier properties are being sorted/repaired. This would be a nice way to extend the hand of kindness and we all know us brits are renowned for our charity. |Just dont know how to go about this? Does anyone?

Excellent idea, perhaps our Presidents would like to step up to the plate?

I don't know how to volunteer, anyway, I'm out next week and would like to offer to help.

 Not trying to be negative but surely there is no water or electricity connected to the empty apartments in garden 5 and 6 so i am sure that would lead to other complications.....not sure what the alternative is

Shame as they could have been used?

The people of Lorca have not only lost  loved ones but many have lost their homes and in many cases they have lost possesions too.

Clothing. Even  toys for the young ones. I would be willing to take some "bits & bobs" & a toy or two but as we are not over until the end of June, I wonder if they would still be needed. Also where or whom to contact.

 If items are still needed then, I am thinking of contacting Monarch who we will be flying over with to see if we can now take a case of " goodies" & hope they would cover the cost. Dont mind paying but i though it would be worth a try & good publicity for them

Any ideas  ??

There was a post on a blog on this forum a few weeks back from someone who has bought on Garden 5 or 6 Naranjos belating the fact that they had no neighbours when they furnished the apartment and no neighbours when they visited at Easter. They commented that CdA was so quiet and lacking in facilites they feel they have made a bad mistake, they met and saw few people. Probably they dont expect to meet a bucketful of refugees from the earth quake next vist. PW own these Jardins lets not assume they are not owned and bought by individuals.  Rather than a focus on two Jardines the whole resort should be under consideration.

 I have spoken with our Administrator and they are going to give me details which i will post on all sites when i have it as to who or where those who want can donate food, accomodation, money etc for the Lorca Earthquake.

They tell me people are donating food to Alhama Council who are sending it on to Lorca but we dont have any Details yet of any Banks accepting Money for the Earthquake or any co-ordination for Accomodation and other help

As soon as i get any info i will post here.
