Vehicles Taxes Payment taken by mistake?

Hey guys just had our bank account debited twice for Vehicles Taxes Payment.

Question is I know it sounds obvious as to what tax it is but we dont own any car in Spain. So is this another name for another tax I dont know about or have the bank just fooked it up....?

Was it around 56 euros ???  if so it is the council tax (or spanish equivilant) to Alhama Council ?   I have just had 56.54 euros taken out twice which is for each person   Is that any help?

Yes yes it was 59 euros twice so thats what it must've been phewww!! Thanks Smivs much obliged :) Thought I was losing the aul marbles there racking my brain saying "I'm sure we never bought a car while in spain".....damn alcohol & spanish sun does funny things to the mind :D

I have just had a 110.06 euros debited to RECIBO AYTO.ALHAMA DE MURCIA which is I beleive the council tax. Mine came out in one lump not 2 x 56 odd euros. As I'm the only one registered, why is mine 110 for one person and yours 56 per person?

I think its down to the number of owners on the property.

If only one owner they pay it all, if there's joint owners they pay half each.

I was informed that all named personel on the deeds had to pay local taxes to the town hall.

 Last year we set up a direct debit for these taxes which makes things much easier.  The amount being deducted depends on the cadestral value of the property I think

 I had €118.21 council tax (also known as SUMA I think) taken on 3rd.  Up from €112 last year.  I have set up a direct debit.
