Hi
Just back from a great Easter break in Arcos. The weather was way better then last year and the locals indulged in processions with gusto. The one by the ,,hermandad'' next to the sports shop El Gallo Azul was particular enthralling since the bearers performed complicated step changes to the music. It looked like the madonna was dancing along, the crowd loved it and rewarded every change with shouts of ole and applause. Spinetingling!
The above mentioned Joven Flamenco is no more, neither the confectioner on the opposite side of the road.
I was really sad to see that Zindicato had been replaced by another outfit but then, to my delight, found that they had moved to a bigger place just opposite of Carrefour. As popular and good as ever.
Some shops have closed but it seemed to me that there are a lot more bars open.
We had a fantastic time and one particular incident at a round-about in Jerez gave me the chance to visualize M- theory.
It might be interesting for some that there is a cash converter in Jerez with decent second hand stuff and keen prizes. Might be worth a look.
Wish I could be in Arcos for '' el clasico'' on Saturday. There is going to be a lot of shouting and cursing at the telly, and that is just the grandmothers.
Can't wait to go back.
