Hi Simongolf
Your outlook is admirable and highly reassuring.
Do you know anyone else who feels the same as you do? I could sell them my vacant phase 2 at the original price which would give you another completer and save me waiting for a court date.

Corvera was more expensive than the majority of other resorts at the time. What was offered at the time of placing deposits was completely misleading and was IMO based on heavy marketing formulated from a weak business agreement. Unfortunately in the heady days before the crash purchasers were only too willing to go along with it and believe the hype.
Roda was meant to have had allof it's facilities completed by the time the first stages of Corvera were due to be handed over (eg the hotel was to be completed in June 2006). Sadly this didn't happen and there has never been an adequate explanation as to why this is the case. Many depositors on Corvera would have looked at this as an indication of the developer's overall attitiude.
I would also question the manner in which properties were sold - what regualtions were in place to check the depositors ability to pay in the future or even get a mortgage? What financial advice was given at the time? Does a responsible business organisation work in this manner?
Ironically if Corvera was completed to the initial timescales, there probably would have been more completions.

First time i have been on here for many a month but i see the usual pro caledona comments are still being made by the same people. Unbelievable. The facts have already been listed by others but some will continue to tow the company line and blame everyone but the real culprits.
Simongolf you truly are a tedious individual and i would be happy to see you in court should you wish to pursue any non-completers. What a ridiculous suggestion!
I wish all completers well with their purchase and hope they get to enjoy many future years at Corvera, but please do not blame those of us that refuse to hand over any more money to these people for the 'issues' you are currently suffering.

Hi All, I see all the usual suspects are assembling nicely, there seems to be more non completers on this forum than owners, surprising really since many of you claim to want nothing more to do with the place. You all seem very sure that if only you can get the big bad wolf Calidona into a courtroom then your victory is sealed, are any of you aware just how many other golf developments across Spain are in a similar or worse position ? Condado de Alhama which was the very first Polaris World Resort in Murcia still does not have a clubhouse more than ten years after development completion, but i bet a clubhouse was in the Polaris World Condado sales brochure ? Has anyone successfully sued Polaris World for lack of facilities on Condado ? Not that i'm aware of. I am not saying everything in the Corvera garden is rosy, i'm just saying i'm happy and i bet there are many others like me, they just don't want to come on this forum and get shouted down. I truly wonder anyway just how many of you really chose not to complete because the clubhouse hadn't been built or whether you saw the property market slowing and just decided to hang back a while ? I chose to complete my purchase and around 400 other people have also chosen to complete so far and irrespective of your negative postings on this forum completions are still continuing to happen, albeit at a trickle. As i see it, there are two or three likely scenarios from here ownards ONE: Corvera Golf SL defaults on management fee payments and goes in receivership in the coming weeks, if that happens a new buyer of the resort would have to be found or completed owners would take effective control through a forum such as Housing Comunidades SL. TWO: The property market starts to recover and non completed villas and apartments start to be re-sold by Calidona, if this happens you might just eventually get some of your deposit money back. THREE: Calidona decides to hang in there and you get to court, if the non completers win the very first test case Calidona goes into liquidation immediately, if Calidona wins the very first case then the other outstanding cases are likely to be dropped and Corvera Golf can finally start to move forward. I do not know which scenario is more likely but neither do you guys. I do know one thing though, i will enjoy many more holidays at Corvera regardless of whichever scenario happens. Anyone for 5-a-Side football ?

Hi Simon -
Just a couple of questions -
What made you choose Corvera over the numerous other urbanisations?
and
Who is Keyser Soze?

Condado de alhama is actually the last resort to be constructed by Polaris World. Mar Menor Golf Resort was the first and completions began in 2004 and finished 2006 when the construction of the hotel was complete.

Plus there was nearly 3000 completions on Condado and we did not get a clubhouse, Polaris just took the money and ran, which is exactly what Caladonia will do if the other 400 were to be completed. There will be no benefit to your resort.....corrupt directors just taking the money and hiding it nad stitching up the little people........best of luck to the 400 fighters

Hi Folks
I am a Condado De Alhama owner. Our resort actually completed in June/July 2008 as was the last Polaris resort. It is true, we are still waiting for our clubhouse but Polaris have done - what I believe - the best they could given the worldwide economic climate since then. No properties were left unfinished and the resort itself is of a good standard. Polaris also offered everyone who had paid deposits another property - in fact this often worked out better for some as they managed to get the alternative offered at a market value less than the original prices they had committed to. We now seem to be on course for the clubhouse and Polaris have released their stranglehold on the commercial centre so now we can get a bit of competition in instead of having to put up with the Polaris staff in our - as yet - one and only bar (they couldn't have been more surly and rude if they tried). Anyway, the rest of the Polaris resorts (La Torre, Mar Menor, El Valle and Hacienda Riquelme) are all pretty much as they were promised but, as I say, we were the last in ine and, sadly, didn't get nearly as much as we had hoped. Like most forums, we have a 'glass half full' brigade and a 'glass half empty' brigade. I am in the positive camp as, although we didn't get what we signed up for, it's still progressing slowly and is most enjoyable. Hope things work out for most here and that the airport and Paramount get thing rolling soon. Arlene.
