hi. I've finally got round to lowering the temperature on the water heater. It was set on maximum at 65 degrees. No wonder it always felt ridiculously hot.
It took a full quarter turn on the thermostat dial before it made any noticeable difference. It will be interesting to see what it does to the electricity bill.
