Hi All,
I live in the first phase of DV and I know from previous posts that we down at the bottom are paying more than those at the top of the hill. A few of the residents are getting together to complain and try and get the fees refunded or at the very least reduced for future years. If anyone else would like to add their name to the list that we are going to send to the council can you please PM me your apt number, square meterage and the value of your IBI bills over the last few years.
Also, if anyone is willing to divulge the info from the top of the hill could you please let me know the sqm and value of your bills so that we can give a comparison to the council when we write?
Thanks,

In fact, I would be interested to know the amount those in phase 3 are paying - and, indeed, what developers/banks are paying for those still owned by them (if they are liable to pay).

I have a meeting with AEA on Monday to look at the accounts so I will ask them if they can find out that info from the banks. I am also in contact with someone who is selling some of the bank's properties so I might be able to find out from her what the IBI is for them.

The lower blocks are paying about €700. We were discussing it today and apparently the there was only supposed to be one phase so the whole was divided into that number of apartments. Then they built phase 2 and 3 and that was divided by the whole again. So P 2 and 3 pay less because it is divided by the whole area. I don't know if this is correct but it would explain why we are paying so much more.
I haven't heard any more about the painting but I will let you know when I do.
Thanks,
Daniela

I do not agree with this only one phase assumption. I do not think the maths stacks with 700 versus 460, if my bill was 200 then this logic may work.
There was always 3 phases in the plans we saw in 2003, we put a deposit down at this time and the whole plot was just a field when we first saw it. We were give the chance to choose an apartment in any of the phases and we choose phase 2 so that there was at least 3 years to wait for completion.
IBI calculations are based upon so much per sq. metre you have and rate varies with the area you live in. Manilva village is a lower rate then Duquesa area.
Your coefficient is based on your sq. meters (apartment + garage space(s) + store room + terrace area size) as a percentage of the total block size.
You should hve these figures for your block.

I didn't think it was the reason but I didn't know the exact ratios for the 3 phases. I will post more info when I have it.
