Hi,

Has anyone rented golf clubs in the past? I guess the Roda pro shop will do it, but is there a golf shop nearby with better selection/prices?

Many thanks

You should find a better selection and price at The Great Golf Company on the right hand side of the main road as you go towards LA from Roda.

They are also opening a new superstore on the C3319 as you go towards Balsicas/ La Torre.

Hi,

I have rented clubs  from the golf club in Roda a couple of times, they offer different sets for ladies and gents, something most clubs don't do!  The set was far superior to the normal set you get for rental - it cost approx €25.  Handy to rent from the pro shop and just drop back after your round.

Petersue,

What type of clubs do they have at Roda? I'm heading over next month and hope to get a game or 2 in.

I stayed in the 4 Seasons in Quinta da Lago last year and played the 2 Quinta courses. As I didn't bring my own clubs I had to hire from the club and I thought the standard was poor, which was a pity as they were 2 fantastic courses. I use Yonex V Mass graphites 3 to SW, 23 degree rescue, 7 wood (which I never use), 3 wood and 10 degree stiff shaft driver. If Roda don't have a good selection I'll bring my own with me. Is it only €25 to hire a set? I think I heard spmewhere the course is around €60 a round.

Also, as my wife doesn't play golf, I was wondering if it easy to get out with someone else? And how much to hire a caddy and/or buggy?

Thanks,

Frank

Hi Frank,

From what I can remember the set was Wilson with graphite shafts ie. the ladies set had 3-sw and three wood and  a driver, deep red I think.  They were a really good set but it doesnt replace playing with your own set of clubs!

It is easy to get out with someone - you just book your tee time and Roda will just book other players onto that tee time with you. You probably should ask them to ensure they are english speakers,  makes it more enjoyable if you can have a chat with them!

If you contact them they will give you the full prices for the round with buggy etc. and available tee times.

The course is really good, you'll enjoy your game there.  I'm just back from the driving range, wish I was out in Roda playing in the sun!

Sue

Thanks for that Petersue and Paul.

I'm over between 17th and 24th April. I'll be hoping to get out about twice. I'm looking forward to a game on Roda. When we bought in Corvera we had a good look at Roda and the course looked very good (as well as the apartments of course). I must be honest and say the quality of the course on Roda and the potential for Corvera were a serious reason why we steered away from Polaris and 3 Molinos and the rest.

As I said, I'm over next week (tues 17 to 24th). Hope to get out at least twice. I'm going to hire a set as per the advice here (altho I'll check with Roda first what is available).

If anyone is around next week I'd be glad to annoy you for 18 holes about football and golf and the fact I backed Zach Johnson e/w for the Masters and that he is paying for my wife and 2 kids week away.

I hired a set of clubs from Roda nothing special at 25 euro's a round!  The driver was not very good it made the ball go right a lot!
