P.S. Darren I think they've stole your shopping centre!!!

Hi
Apologies for bringing this subject back to the forum but has anyone heard any news of how the investment into this project is going. I understand there was a presentation road show in October but any factual updates seem to have dried up.
Thanks
Phil

There was an Arab Spanish Investment Forum (ASIF) meeting planned for end of Ocober in the Intercon at La Torre. Paramount was one of a few items on the agenda, but I haven't seen any outcome. Does anyone know if the meeting took place?

After Italy has had a kicking in the Eurozone crisis, Spain is next in line. I can't see foreign investors jumping in with their cash whilst the Euro uncertainty continues.
Probably the best thing would be for Spain to leave the Euro voluntarily thereby devaluing the reformed Peseta which would make the situation very much more appealing for investors and also make Spain the cheap holiday destination that it used to be.
Watch the Euro and forget Paramount until that is sorted. JF

Might just be worth waiting patiently rather than speculating
after all there were several on this forum who scoffed and mocked the opening of Corvera airport looks like those misplaced opinions were wrong again.
Be careful what you wish for as it may just happen
i was amazed to find out from some collegues in the UK who purchased land to build here new about this developement 7 years ago.
Will it happen - answer should be lets hope so, as all would bennefit in the region of Murcia
Darren will you entertain with your opinion - give us a giggle

Well you asked for it!
My Opinion - Paramount Murcia will never happen! Also never doubted Corvera would open. I just dont think the place will make a profit for many years.
Now I expect to be chastised for this opinion, but I was asked!
Now back to my other Forum where I am really winding people up! They want to kill me over there!.

There was alot of speculation over 7 years ago that a huge entetainment development would be built in Murcia close to Murcia City and from that time golf resorts and property developments began to be initiated. The road network was massively improved as we have seen and benefited from, Corvera airport was speculated tabout then progressed to development and of course property developers were ongoing with their developments till 2008/9.
The high speed railwway was muted and the Cruise liner base at Cartegena was developed. This isnt all random but neither is it created by joined up thinking- and of course we've had the financial downturn which may yet affect Spain in an even worse way than it is at present. The financial downturn caused all of these project to shudder and in the main slow down.
There's a tremendous amount of money been spent on getting the Paramount idea this far and in the present climate I doubt it would have been spent if the idea wasn't viable. Thats different from it coming to fuitian.
Who knows what will happen, sadly we are in a time of great uncertainty- a promise to build doent actually mean a property will happen as finances are so stretcehed.
Paramount Park is spoken about as the saviou of CDA 1- in these times of undetaintly I hope thats not the cae.

Don't think you'll get any informed opinions on here MEJAZI10 as no-one really knows the facts,so you'll just get the same old optimistic and pessimistic speculation. The only ones who can really answer that are those directly involved in the negotiations, and obviously they're not going to be issuing weekly statements on the situation. So I don't think you'll be elightened on here.
You'll just have to sit tight, keep your fingers crossed, and wait until an official announcement is made I'm afraid. Until then I'd take anything you read on here and elsewhere, positive or negative, with a huge dose of salt.
