Dog Mess

Just back from a lovely week at our apartment.  

Looking out from our back terrace over the lemon/orange groves to the Mar Menor, thinking "oh, how lovely to see lots of families using the park facilities".  Then looking down over the walk ways to the pebbled area only to see Dog Poo everywhere, and people walking their dogs off the lead and letting them walk behind them and not taking any notice of what they could be doing.  it is not only on our Phase 3 that we noticed this, and on more than one occasion.  Have the rules lapsed about keeping dogs on leads?

Just disgraceful, but not only on the pebbled areas also on footpaths, UGH......

 As previously stated, this is a very emotive issue but will get nowhere on an open forum, you must contact The Entidad Board and Housing and/or San Javier Town Hall.

The Town Hall were running an active campaign advertising fines for offenders and either someone has to place dog bins and bags around the resort or more active policing of the offence needs to take place.

Presumably most of the dogs on Roda are owned by Spanish people, who seem to have a completely different attitude to British people regarding dog mess. This is a cultural issue and from what I've seen is a problem throughout Spain.   They also have the same problem in France and the only thing I have ever seen which is effective, is employing someone to actually go round and pick the mess up - not a job for the fainthearted!!!

It is not just the Spanish by any means. I've certainly tackled a Btitish resident on Roda who just let their dog foul - and got a load of abuse backl! Mind - I think they learnt a few more un-ladylike words from me.

Like Hugh-man says please contact the Entidad President of Town Hall - if they don't know how we feel, then nothing will ever get done.
