Hi all

If there is anyone, like us that are planning on moving out to Spain, when your apartment is finished and you have young children that will need to attend the School, on site, I have been into the school to find out what you need to do. There are a couple of forms to fill in, but they will not take more children on until they have 20 children waiting, as they will be able to take on another teacher and open a new classroom. They have some on the waiting list, for September, but do need some more. So if you are planning to send your children to the school please let me know, so we can get enough children to open a new classroom. Many thanks.

my son  may move out to .c.d.s so i have been looking into the what to do and i know he has to registar his children with the town hall before they can start school  what is the term cost of sending a child to this school my grandson is 7 years old  and can only speak a little spanish  so we are also looking at english schools

  so he will learn to speak spanish  at a lower pace  as i know someone who has two boys in spanish school they are twins age 7 and after a year are finding very hard as ther is no translation for them

We are deliberating whether to move into an apartment on phase 2 after it is completed.

There are just so many thing to consider before moving to Spain.

I am sure that we could both find work but are thinking more of our son.

Our son will be seven years old in July and is currently undergoing SATS at school in the UK.

I am told that now would be a good time to move due to his age.

If we do move into our apartment do you have any idea of the school fees and the start date?   Also do they organise a summer school?

Are there many children in the area of similar age to my son?

Speaking from experience, my daughters went to school in Arroyo for 10 years, if you are thinking of putting your son into Spanish school do it sooner rather than later,as the older they get the harder it is for them.  Yes, they will pick up the language quickly but it takes longer . I was lucky my girls were 2 and 3 and learnt to read and write like Spanish children. I had the reverse when I came back to UK when they were 12 and 13( for family reasons and not by choice.) and their English needed a lot of help.  He will enjoy Spanish school and the social life that comes with it. It set my girls up for a really great start with good values and standards.  If you go to state school there are no fees you only have to buying the books and materials each September. There are summer activities all through the long summer break - June to September, some run by the Town Hall and others private.  Read the general forum about doing right by putting them in school and there are lots of others in your position.  Best regards.
