Hi diver Dan
We purchased at ACC in October 2005 just before the S**t hit the fan. We had paid one instalment and threatened Huma with court action unless we got our bank guarantee. It came from a different bank to the one that had our money but was a guarantee nevertherless.
Using that ACC site you spoke of I encouraged everyone without the guarantee to do the same, but many just left it to chance and ended up in the mire. Eventually, we had to threaten the bank with litigation before they coughed up. So we lost our initial deposit of £2k but on the up side we benefited from the Euro/pound exchange rate, and our lawyers never charged us a penny!
Its too late in life for us to look at buying even if we thought it would be a good deal. there are so many issues with the stability of European countries I would only ever rent these days because at least you can get out with minimal loss when the rioting starts.
The person who always gave good, free advice was Maria, and she kept our hopes alive in the dark days. I hope that the corruption in Spain will be swept aside and everyone will get something back eben if its one of those many apartments that noone will buy.
Kind regards
