Electricity Bills

 Hi I  live in Duquesa Village and have had yet another high electricity bill for €236.00 my Jan bill was €250.00 I have a 2 bed apartment and do not use the heating or air con! 

We got Paco to open the metre box and the readying look ok but our meter is digital and you can not see the wheel turning so when I turn off all the electric supply you can not see anything!! 

does anyone know if its possible for anyone to be taking electricity from our meter? 

can anyone help does anyone know if we can change supplier. THese bills are just too high!!

So this bill, and the January bill you mention, is for two months electricity consumption?  If so, then I don't think that that is too unreasonable.   About €120pm when the apartment is occupied seems about right.  As I mentioned in another thread, our bills were about €125pm when it was occupied.

Are you with Endesa?

Yes I am with endesa and Paco came to open our meter box and we have a digital meter which is a pain as you can not see the wheel going round!!  maybe there is a fault with our meter?? 

and to add to it elec has gone up 7% !! its maddness!

 That's very strange, Helen.  To have a bill for around €75 one month, then €250, then €75 again, then €250 again - that just doesn't add up.  Usually, Endesa reads the meter ever two months, and one month is estimated - but you would think that if December is around €75, then the January reading may well be €250, but for an estimated bill in February to be around €75, after a €250 bill just doesn't equate.  I would definitely get in touch with Endesa - forget asking anybody else, just get Endesa to check it out.  They are usually good at refunding any overpayment (we've had at least two refunds from them).
