Money Transfers - Strike while the Euro is weak

Hi - thought worth sharing knowledge on Sterling to Euro exchange - I've been using HALO financial to transfer money into my Spanish bank account - and having spent many hours back and forth on the net trying to find the best rate and best service I have to say HALO are first class.

Today’s exchange rate I traded at 1.2650, with a £15 fee for same-day transfer – funds immediately available in your bank account – Has anyone found or suggest if I could improve on this?

 How much did you move? Coz all depends if you're paying a fee

£3500 (cost £3515) at 1.2650 = €4427.50

£3515 (cost £3515) at 1.26 = €4428.90

Thanks for the note on currencyfair.com.  What a great system.

I had been using Caxton, amongst others, but will now be using currencyfair.  I could have done an immediate exchange offer last night at around 1.286 but thought I'd see how the "market place" system worked.  I placed an "order" at around 10pm last night to buy euros at 1.2715.  It has just come through this morning confirming the order.  Even with a 3 euro charge to send the money to Spain, it still seems to be the best deal around at the moment at it works out to a rate of 1.2701
