Dear All
My appartment is in the Naranjos area of the resort, whilst ive been out there recently ive noticed 2 different women out walking their dogs and allowing them to foul on the waste area to the rear of the property and not pick the mess up and take in home with them to dispose of properly.
Next time I am out I will get photos of these individuals and report them to ML and Security.
If you are one of the culprits and read this thread can you please stop as this is a health hazzard to all and the last thing we need is ML to ban dogs from the resort.

point taken but may be this will help and fully agree
Terra Poo
You’d think the prospect of clean grass would be enough to induce good behavior, but still, some dog owners neglect to pick up after their animals. A new concept gives people another incentive: Free WiFi in exchange for your dog’s poop.
It’s a good idea — throwing away dog poop equates to minutes of free public Internet access. A video below on behalf of Terra, a Mexican Internet firm, explains how it would work.
When people throw away poop, a “sophisticated system” translates the weight of the poop into free minutes of WiFi. The more poop, the more free Internet. As you can see in the video, the owners of Saint Bernards would be very happy. Owners of small dogs may be tempted to do some weird bowel-area massaging to get more free minutes.
Users would get WiFi signals via dog bone-shaped dongles inserted on the grass, in trees or in other spots near where people might congregate. Then, along with getting free WiFi, people can walk happily through the parks and avoid stepping in dog waste. You could conceivably throw away anything else heavy, too, but the incentive is for dog poop here, not your old stereo or whatever.
Check out the explanation below (in Spanish).

We're fostering a little puppy for a few weeks and I got a waste bag bone carrier on the lead. It is normal that you pick up your dogs mess. Some people are just to lazy.

We were out a week or so ago........... dog poo on all waste areas, mainly at the entrances so everyone can appreciate their dogs mess. Great idea take a photo. You could go one better and collect said poo and deliver it back to the owners!!!!!!!!
I witnessed the dog poo in most places but never witnessed the act. Who are these people.

CDA. Should be a dog and cat free zone. It's no place for domestic pets as the climate is way too hot in the summer and the properties are too small for them. Controversial I know but it could be woven into the community rules at an agm. I bet this will bring out the animal rights brigade. Remember it's not much fun stepping in dog poo around the pool with nothing on your feet! JF

We were last out in May.
My dad went out for a walk. He came back reporting that the waste area between the Jardines and the golf course is dog poo central.
Needs to be stopped, it's disgusting.

It is always the minority that spoils it for the majority. You will find it impossible to have a ban put on pets written into your community rules. This would require a change in the statutes and that would require a unanimous vote, something you will never get.
I think La Torre have installed dog poo bins around the resort to try and combat this problem.
Can you be fined by the police for not picking up your dogs poo?

How about an additional tax or service charge levied on owners who bring pets onto the resort. If we have to clean up after them then they should pay for that service. People could be charged at the security gate when they come onto site and issued with a permit with is time limited. Make it sufficiently expensive and that will soon stop the problem. JF

I totally agree that dog poo not picked up by owners is disgusting but as a responsible animal lover who has pets and will be taking them over to Condado soon, I think that your comments about charging an additional tax on pet owners is ridiculous. We always pick up our dog's dirt as do our friends so why pick on all pet owners, it's the irresponsible pet owners that should be targeted. The comment about banning pets is equally as stupid, pets don't get drunk and cause trouble, poo in swimming pools, drive like lunatics up and down the ring road or fail to pay their community taxes.
If you are going down this line then it's the same as saying that all smokers should be charged an additional tax because of all the cigarette ends that I see on Condado that need picking up, or charge everyone additional tax because we don't know who keeps throwing the rubbish in the wrong bins which encourages rodents. What about all the kids that run, cycle or play football etc on the golf course, why not charge everyone with kids an additional tax . Of course we have the much talked about poo in the pool, so let's charge everyone who uses any of the pools an additional tax or better still ban them, all kids, smokers and people who use the bins from Condado because we might as well tar them all with the same brush.
I know that I am going on a bit but surely the answer is to catch the culprits for all these crimes and name and shame them. If you start trying to ban family pets from a family resort then you will be opening a can of worms so don't even go down that road.

You can include smokers for me too - good idea but not yet possible I would agree. Pets - leave them at home or in kennels. This is primarliy a holiday resort not a housing estate - although I know some people do live here all the time - but really the place is not condusive to pets. I am an ex dog owner so I know what I am talking about. (I am also an ex smoker).
Its like anything in life, it is always the minority who let the majority down. But practically speaking the policy makers have to impose regulations to keep us all in line even though some decent law abiding citizens don't need that level of control. JF

I think at one point, the administrators were sending owners that had been seen letting their dogs foul in public areas letters telling them that if they were seen to be doing this again, they could face "further action".
As some of the other owners on this thread have already said though, what "further action" can be taken?
There are no dog wardens on the resort and its not actually illegal to leave your doggies doo-dahs on the grass.

Me again,
A load of crap is appearing on this thread (and a parallel one).
First of all - TQM you need to get a grip.
A few quotes taken from the threads;-
Spot fines for owners - ffs! Are you bonkers?
Why shouldn't owners be allowed to place a sunbed in the gardens and have a drink (albeit in a plastic glass) by the pool? Isn't this one of the reasons for buyng in the first place? Beats the shit out of dog pooh.
Charge a premium for pet owners - ffs!
Dog wardens - ffs! I give up.
Spot fines - oh yeah, that will go down a bundle.
'I am an ex dog owner so I know what I'm talking about' - Look out Ptan, serious competition,

Sat here in a dull and wet UK, I am beginning to realise that I did the right thing in avoiding coming to CDA during the school holidays. Dogs and cats galore crapping everywhere and kids doing it in the pools - get enough of that here at home, don't need it when on holiday! FFS
