Bidet in the bathroom

Hi Condado owners

Did anyone have it removed? If so is it a difficult and messy job? Who did it for you and how much was it exactly.

Also is there a tile underneath or do I have to try and buy matching tile? If that's the case any pointers where to go would be very much appreciated.

yes we had ours removed along with bath and had a huge enclosed shower fitted instead.

The second best thing we did out there since buying a Webber bbq ;)

Depending on how much building work you have done though, it might be an idea to contact local building control to make sure you don't need any planning permission.

To be honest, there are quite a few companies which offer this package now. In fact, I'm surprised I've been the first person to reply to your thread.

I would like to remove our bidet, the problem is finding the matching tiles.

If anyone knows where they can be purchase, please let me know

I removed mine myself but I am reasonably competent at DIY. I caped all the pipes so I could reinstate it if necessary and stud a tall bathroom cupboard over the area of it had stood. You would not know it had ever been there and the cupboard looks great and provided needed storage.

I bought my cupboard from DFS Spain which is hi gloss tall one with 2 doors and 2 draws, but the Chinese shop at Camposol sells the same type at the back of the store now even cheaper and it is well made and attractive

Just thought I would mention that when I asked my Spanish solicitor about the implications of removing the bidet from our apartment, he said it was fine as long as it is put back if you wish to re-sell. Might be worth looking into......

I've had a quote to remove the bath in our 2 bed apt and have this replaced with a large shower instead. (We don't have a bidet)

Having heard that people may have to get the bidet replaced when selling their apartments - I was wondering if the same rules apply if you have switched your bath to a shower ?
