New President

Following recent events reported to everyone by the Administration, and taking into account the replies received through emails to the Administrator, the presidents of level 2, pursuant to its obligation and to safeguard the legality and transparency in their actions within this community, have been forced to call a special meeting to remove the current president of level 1, Mr. Phil Tann. This meeting was held on Friday 17 August, resulting in the current Level 2 (Jardines II) president Victoria Sanz being elected as your new Level one president. 

Any reports of soldiers with flowers in their rifles, riding on tanks, through the resort?

Seems like a coup d'etat has occurred.

 take it only Spanish are allowed to be the president now, probably used to be a mayor  before they were done for corruption, at least we know who's back pockets our money will be going to. Will they ever learn

 

PT had to go, his position became untenable and was just outmanoeuvred by a more experienced machine. No one person is bigger than CDA and I think some of the allegations undermined is position.

I would like to thank PT for his service as President during the early years of CDA. He did a good job and I always found him helpful when I contacted him for assistance. However, the place has grown immensely and is on a different footing now and with the best of respect, we need someone who can devote more time and experience to the role. Not sure we will get that with the new President but we must move on.

PT time for you to take a break and enjoy some R and R after all that's what we all bought into. Jon Faulkner.

 Back again...just seem to pop up and the right time to try and stir the pot without saying anything constructive.  Probably trying to get everyone going with the spanish/english thing and "go back to your own country".

What very good comments, I totally agree with you as I also think the resort had out grown PT, like many UK PM that get more than 4 years in office they seem to become a little over come with the position of power and forget who they represent.

I too thank PT, yet I do feel it was time for him to move on.

Something to think about! there are more than two countries who have bought apartments at Condado everything is not just about England and Spain!

Giles, You may be correct but if that is the case let it be done fairly and transparently..

Matryd, You are absolutely right about that but the likes of bluevelvet dont see that!

"outmanoeuvred by a more experienced machine" Jon, we have all seen this manoeuvring before haven't we and it wasn't right how it was done then and it isnt right how it has been done now!

The only thing that matters to me and my family is the best for Condado
and for anyone who has apartment there, we can not hold on to war between us.
We must build Condado to what we want it to be.
We need to engage everyone and not just think of ourselves.

 

I don't think we will be allowed to 'engage'. Most of us have had minimal involvement with the running of the resort.

I completely agree that if someone has overstepped their authority then this is wrong- but to create a coup d'etat when the blokes on holiday smacks of a real power struggle.  I don't know if PT overstepped his role and nor do most of the posters on the forum, we have only rumour, gossip and that strange letter from ML to go on.

It could bethat PT's going to be relieved to step aside. I'm sure he just wanted a better balance of nationalities as presidents to represent the owners

Totally agree elarado. The anti-Spanish sentiments voiced by some is a bit disappointing to say the least. Some should remember we're guests in their country and show them some respect.

Only point I'd pick you up on is that it's more an English thing than a British thing, from what I've read anyway.

There are crooks and dishonest people are everywhere from every background and culture. Clearly I am particular angry about this one because it is close to my heart as I paid 182,000 for an apartment that is now worth very little. It's the system I have a problem with and the lack of robust governance but this applies to many countries but not in the UK.

All of us who bought on 2006-07 have lost a lot of money Mark. Most of us though accept it was a risk we took when we bought.

That's life, move on.

LOL, yeah Mark, being consumed by perma-rage is a far more sensible approach to life. :)
