 Seems Barry wants to sell his services? Just for the sake of truth: all this trouble between ML and PT started with the "letter" from PT's wife! It was her starting with unfunded accusations and showing little respect towards ML so no wonder they defended them selves as everybody else would do. Did ML get the timing right? Maybe not but this does not help, it was started by them so they should bear the consequences, don't you think? Let's move on, the resort is in very good condition, at least when we left some 3 weeks ago it was, and all seems to go smoother than ever before. RobandBev

You are completely wrong re. Barry (although, you could be forgiven as nearly everyone in Spain is 'on the make' ).  He is the President (unpaid) of an urbanisation, of approx. 900 properties, not far from CdA.  He, along with a group of owners, has managed to turn, in 3 years, the fortunes of this urbanisation around, without having to raise the Community Fees - without the 'help' of an Administrator.

 Sorry, did not want to offend him at all, but the situation stays the same. There is no real issue with ML, I think they do a good job on the resort and brought us out of the problems with the developer into tranquil waters. As mentioned in my previous post the problems were NOT started by ML, they just reacted in their way as everybody would do after this type of accusations. I think it is time to move on, let's say "thanks" to PT for the work he put into and let him enjoy his retirement at CDA.

I don't have any services to sell, I am giving you all some experienced based advice, for free.... I don't need any more things to do than my full time job here in Totana and the Presidency of the urbanisation on which I live.

I will repeat though if you allow the Administrator to take full control you will be sorry and it will cost you dear, I am not advocating or even suggesting you sack them that is for the owners to decide but you must wrest control from them.

Trying not to respond but Chavvyowl needs correcting again. "Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another" - I agree! It does not mean you have to have experienced them which is what you stated in your first e-mail. The problem is that to empathise you need the intelectual ability and depth to be able to place yourself in another's position - something I suspect you're sadly lacking. Don't bother responding again because I'm not interested - every thread on here eventually gets dragged down by your inane posts so I end up not reading them anyway.

Never a waste to pass on experience or offer advice, the owners can and will plough their own furrow but I know that the road to recovery after they have brought you to your knees is long and painful.

We are now in a very comfortable place but at times it has been oh so difficult and in the early days almost impossible.

you may not of seen it as it was posted on another thread, but the contents of the post that Ltan did a few months ago was all true.

Take another look at the post about ML back in April, are you complaining about the content or how it was posted?

the post says there were problems with the insurance renewal and irrigation, it now seems these were all the truth.

As I posted last week Phil seems to be posting the information on the old community website ( www.cdagr.eu ) for all to see 

if you look at the info on insurance it seems that ML lied to all the presidents telling them they were getting three quotes then backtracked at the last minute and said they wouldn't get any quote as they were agents for Axa?   All a bit dodgy if you ask me.

There are also copies of emails on the irrigation problems, seems ML didn't bother to tell the presidents or do anything about the problems?  Again is this what you what from a paid administrator?

I even looks like ML were given a written warning for their bad performance signed by ALL the level 2's

Without a way of contacting the owners directly how are these things supposed to be made known?

Personally if this happened in the UK with someone that worked for me I'd of sacked them by now!!

Most are all unnamed and whenever anyone posts anything about ML the same 3 or four come straight to the defence regardless of what is said.

Ask for detailed accounts and they post why do we need them ML can be trusted...? have they seen them.

Post allegations need investigating.. they post why should we ML say we are good and thats all they need to hear.

Post ML should not have sent emails about level one and engerneered a take over  ..  they shout why not... unbelievable.

Post that two presidents overrided the wishes on all the level 3 presidents 1 week after they they agreed that they had confidence in the level one and they shout why do we need demorcray if ML say its ok we agree.

I have consistantly asked that these things need looking into, never who is right and wrong but no one is allowed to even look   ... very strange.

please please please head the warning from Fire fighter do not take the word of ML thats all ok just put provisions in place to ensure it is.

Can you imagine finding out in a year that we are bankrupt and some one asks us why did you not check? we will all look silly by saying ML said everything was ok and the faceless ML fan club will vanish.

Please Please Please can we employ someone legal just to check all this out.

I  posted on 1st September on another thead regarding the accounts and also on a previous occasion  " if we are that bothered why don't we pay someone independant to oversee the accounts"  unfortunately  it fell on deaf ears because i'm not in the " pat each other  on the back  "  click on here lol

 So does everyone now understand the accounts report published yesterday in ML weekly report, is it clear?

We already pay someone to independently go over the accounts Beau, they're audited and approved by regisitered CAs.

Audited accounts are all well and good - I'm sure that every column will add up correctly.  The problem arises when the expenditure does not tally with what was agreed, by either the President or the members at a General Meeting (AGM/EGM).  For example, audited accounts would not show that the street cleaning budget actually cost 30,000€ more than expected (not a true figure).  What the accounts need is scrutinising, if you want to make sure that you're not going to get into trouble.

I certainly don't claim to be an accountancy expert, but I'm absolutely sure that there's a lot more to auditing accounts than just making sure all the colums add up correctly.

There isn't

Auditors are not worried about who gave the permission to purchase goods/services (can you imagine them trawling through all the Minutes of every meeting), they're concerned with receipts receivable and payable (and how they were paid).

A scrutiniser would be interested in who ordered the goods, did they have permission to order the goods, and did the price paid agree with that permission.  A few interested owners could do this, and report their findings to the members.

Hang on.... you have to get a degree to learn how to add up columns? 

Forget that, a calculator and excel spreadsheet is all I need. :)

But don't forget!!!  You first have to have access to said columns before you can practice on them....
