Corvera Airport opening. (Confussed.com)

Hi.

The Airport is due to open in April 2013.

The airports website is now finished being 'under construction' which it has been

for the last two years.

If you go to airm.es it has lots of info, pictures and a virtual tour. Looks Good.

The flight testing didn't finish until the end of September, so I think they still have a

way to go before all the necessary paperwork is in order for the airport to open.

Probably won't end up opening until the end of of summer next year  : (   

But would love to be proved wrong.

Thanks for the update.

I think I will risk it & book our March flights now I will look to book the rest around March time next year.

Fingers crossed it does open at some time 2013

Hi Jan, we've booked our flights for easter with Jet2 as we had heard that they had already signed to fly to corvera so it would be a straight swap for them. Have not heard of any other airlines that had signed up so thought it would be a gamble to book with them.

We've  got our Easter and Summer flights booked both with Easyjet. We decided that we wouldn't wait until Corvera opened as that could be anytime or not at all, we just dont know.  Please remember it's Spain.

Hi Jan,

Easter like I said and because Lucy is starting High School next summer we are out slightly earlier in the summer than we would have liked but we are still managing 3 weeks. Think the dates are approx 17th july to 7th August. Yes your right it is about time we met up. Simon is arriving this Monday evening for 4 days to play golf (Yes without me, but its costing him lots).

I've read that when Corvera does open, that all the flights booked to fly into Murcia (San Javier) will then go there. Hopefully, the car hire people will realise that!
