Where have all the 'regulars' gone?

I've visited this site 2 or 3 times a week since signing on the dotted line 5 years ago, and over that time I have received lots of really useful advice and helpful information, and hopefully shared some myself with others. Even had a few laughs now and then, and have got to know a few of our neighbours through it as well. All and all it used to be a nice place to visit.

Over the last few months however I've sadly noticed that most of the 'regulars' who participated in this site and made it what it was seem to have disappeared. I suspect it may have something to do with the unrelenting negativity and sniping that seems to have taken over most threads. That's the impression I get anyway from those ex-regulars I keep in contact with through e-mail and Facebook.

Bit of a shame really, this used to be a vibrant, lively and interesting place to visit where people could say what they felt without fear of being insulted, ridiculed or alienated.

All I would say to anyone thinking of purchasing on CdA and who visits this site... please do not think for any minute that the views expressed by some on here are representative of the vast majority of owners, who in my experience think the resort is well managed and maintained and definitely on the way up. Don't let what you read on here influence you, visit the resort yourself and make up your own mind.

It's the way of the world.  People move on, from time to time, to pastures new.  Members get bored and leave, others join and contribute in their own style - you may call it negativity; I'd call it freedom of expression.

You post that the vast majority of owners think that the 'resort' is well managed, etc.  Is that your opinion (educated or not), or is it a documented fact (i.e have you canvassed all the owners - as implied in your post)?

Peter your post is exactly why most people no longer bother.

I also believe most think CDA is well service, kept and run. It's those with axe to grid are turning people away.

Surely you don't, really, believe that my post, of today, has stopped people posting in the past?  Did you mean that in your opinion, posts such as mine are the reason why some people no longer post?

Can you elaborate on 'axe to grind' statement, please?

We are still here. Just reluctant to contribute as you will only be slammed down. Great to see you and yours (if you remember lol) early this month.

Lurrrrrve the resort. The community that has nurtured and grown into THE BEST. The local Spanish for always making me feel welcome.  The beauty of the area, and so much much more.

Most are still here but choose which threads to contribute to. We are the first generational residents and the need to ask about where to get a new washing machine or tap washer etc is no longer a necessity but more the politics and more serious issues the community face are.

Forums are a microcosm of the real world in many ways. They contain people from all walks of life who see the same thing but have a completely different perspective. Some are optimists, some pessimists and some who just love a good argument. Some are bullies unfortunately. We have them all on here, but it makes things interesting.

Keep watching and contributing when you feel the need would be my suggestion as we need people who have a moderate and more informed perspective, otherwise the lunatics will take over the asylum. JF

As a first generation Condadonian, I agree, there has been lots of rumors and speculation and altough I still read through the forums, the negative and unsubstantiated comments put me off. I have yet to see facts that I can rely on. BTW I am not on anyones side!

What I do dislike is non owners commenting negatively on our resort/and eos members, if they have a constructive comment or two, thats fine but I have seen quite a few posts over the past few months which I suspect are not from CdA resident/owners and quite frankly I don't want to hear it!

As we do not live on Condado and visit only 3 times a year, I love to hear about the new developments, new restaurants and services and informed news about the weather events, local area information etc! So, please keep that coming! The resort has developed so much in the past year, how can anyone be totally negative, it is beyond me!

So, I am still here, reading but not posting, unless it is something of interest within our community!

I own 2 properties on CDA and first stayed at CDA in August 2008 so have seen the resort develop from virtualy no facilities to what we have today. I have been a  member of this forum since 2008 but have only contributed when I have had useful information to pass on, as I do not wish to get involved in the misinformation and bickering that some people using this forum seem to enjoy. I have seen the way some topics have become personal and I am not suprised some of the regulars no longer  wish to contribute.

CDA is a great resort which I and my family visit 4 or 5 times a year. All the negativity from certain factions is doing CDA no good, so could we have more positivity please as it is a great place for both residents and those of us who visit regularly.  

 Some good news about the resort? The golf course has just been awarded as "the best golf course in Murcia 2012"! I come to the resort every day and I find it every time exiting to drive here, the resort is in very good shape and all services at the AL Kasar are up and running, so just come and see yourself! Rupert-Quality Homes at Al Kasar
