Murcia Van Hire

Good Morning All

A quick question if I may regarding van hire in Murcia and in particular near Ikea. Is it possible to actually hire a van by the hour or for 1 day in or around the Ikea vicinity as per that which you can do here in the UK. I need to pick up some stuff for my apartment in Condado and can't seem to find a van hire company that will allow me to pick up at the airport so thought this might be an option.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I believe there is van hire available at Ikea.

It is situated near the cash outs. According to the Ikea website the price varies depending on value of goods purchased and distance from Ikea.

I think ( not certain on this though) you will fall into Zone B and cost starts at 29 Euros.

Edited to say that there is a business that transports goods from Ikea for you. Called Flatpaxabia  tel 965 79 40 90. It might be worth getting a quote

We got much of our stuff from IKEA and paid for them to deliver.

Probably depends on how much you are buying but probably worth doing the calculations as by the time you take into petrol, insurance etc it might be worth getting them to deliver.

Yes I came across this particular service previously where your delivery costs are a percentage of your expenditure, as there are a couple of different companies like Flatpax and Ikea offering this.  However, when I tried to enquire further I found you had to be very well organised, know exactly what you wanted and have it all booked well in advance.  

Unfortunately neither my wife or myself fall into this category as we could either end up with a lorry load of furniture we don't need or a van full of nothing.  The other problem of course is the very fact that my better half is aware of lots of other shops in the vicinity, the very thought of which leaves me weak at the knees........ Yes you guessed it, I hate shopping full stop nevermind visiting Ikea, hence why I was hoping to simply be able to book a hire van for the day in advance and drive it myself.

I guess it's going to be torture which ever way I choose........................

A possible soloution might be to employ Steve to do the work for you ??

Steve is a long time member on EOS and uses the handle "endpeg"   -  Steve lives at Camposol and always used to be at Ikea 3 or 4 times a week buying / delivering and building for Condado owners setting up home

Hi We hired a ford transit at Alicante airport ,the car hire company was Centauro.Hired for 5 days cost 470euros including fuel bit pricey but did the job.
